Joanna Medrano

Joanna has over ten years of legal experience, including extensive litigation experience. Over the years, Joanna has developed a legal philosophy centered around communication. Open and honest communication between the attorney and client—as well as with opposing parties and counsels—allows a case to move smoothly. Communication is key to getting results and Joanna encourages clients to be upfront and honest. Joanna likewise will communicate expectations, keep clients informed about case status and next steps, and fight for her clients’ success.

In addition to being a fierce advocate in the courtroom, Joanna works to enhance communication between parties to settle cases and avoid costly or needless litigation. Joanna ensures that her clients feel supported in each step of a proceeding from intake through conclusion. She is responsive and is always willing to take time to explain the consequences of a legal ruling or speak with the clients to ensure that they are on the same page as to next steps in their case.

Joanna is admitted in both New York and Arizona. She has directed legal non-profit programs centered on affordable housing and has had the opportunity to teach at University of Nevada Boyd School of Law. More recently, she was an Arizona Assistant Attorney General representing the Department of Child Safety. In this role she gained daily courtroom time and extensive trial experience. Joanna uses her experience and comfort in the courtroom to put her client at ease, tell their story, and advocate so the Judge understands their positions.

Personal:

Joanna is originally from Brooklyn, NY, but has lived and loved the Southwest since 2015. Joanna enjoys taking in nature, going on hikes, and enjoying the local restaurants and food festivals. In addition to being out and about, Joanna enjoys downtime with her family watching movies.
