Very happy with Mr Hicks

Mr. Hicks represented me in an accident case years ago and now recently with a landlord problem. I was extremely happy with his service. He was there for me whenever I had questions. The accident settlement was very fair. He always takes the time to personally talk me through any issue or question.... So nice!

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2012.

Probation issued in AZ, 2012

updated on 09/09/2016

Probation means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State monitors the lawyer's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Ridge’s comment:

“I changed banks in 2012, and a check from the trust account (client funds) mistakenly went out on the old account, causing an overdraft. The mistake was corrected immediately, but a State Bar audit did find other mistakes in my account reconciliations. No client funds were lost or taken, every client received all money due to them, no clients complained to the Bar about their money or the account, and the Bar did not find any selfish or dishonest motive in my actions.”

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline
This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2012
Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
