Burt Richard Skiba

Burt Skiba, a licensed attorney specializing in intellectual property law, has extensive experience in mechanical engineering and business development. He advises a wide range of companies in all manner of transactions involving intellectual property matters. Mr. Skiba assists clients with patents, trademarks, copyrights, IP related business counseling, and Amazon legal services. He specializes in early-stage startups helping establish your intellectual property plan and developing and implementing strategies to meet your business goals. Mr. Skiba has significant experience taking an invention from concept to design, and helping clients along the way.

During law school, Mr. Skiba worked for the Naval Surface Warfare Center and a large law firm where he wrote patent applications on a  broad range of technologies. Prior to law school, Mr. Skiba worked as a mechanical engineer and has extensive technical experience having worked on complex systems such as turbine engines, rockets, and missiles. Prior to forming Accelerate IP, Mr. Skiba co-started his own company and worked as an Attorney working on various IP issues. Burt has one issued patent, and five pending.

Mr. Skiba spends his free time with his wife and four kids, coaching baseball and football, and getting in the occasional round of golf.
