Great Attorney

Terry has helped me on and off for years. He is a sleeper - someone you think isn't on it but that's because he's about 10 steps ahead. He doesn't call/handhold to save you legal fees. If you hire him, you're in really good hands.

Your better off with litterally Anyone Else.

Get your Brothers Girlfriends Neighbors Dog to represent you. He will care more of your well being and do more to help than Terry will. He did litterally nothing for me. Then after a year of continuance. He tried litterally "dropping" me b4 Any movement on my case was realized. Then, after a y...ear of telling me I had an excellent case - he did a 180 and told me to take a plea. This guy shows such contempt for his own clients. He is so rude, unhelpful & will flat dismiss you with such a flippant attitude. Run. Don't walk. Away from this horrible human being.

Could have hired a team of lawyers for what he charged

I am so disappointed with Terry and Sutton Law. Our consult was very good we liked him right off the bat we signed a contract and paid the man $30,000.00 yep 30k My son ended up in court 5 times and we had 1 consult - I am the one who went through discovery and filled him in. Terry told my son h...e felt very strong he could get the charges dropped and wanted another 10k-16k to take this case to trial. When my son chose not to take to trial that was then end. Terry didn't show up for court one morning after Covid hit even tho I called the office the day before to confirm ( left voicemail) his case had been postponed. - thanks for the communication !! There were 8 other co defendants in this case and after speaking with them the most any of them had paid was 14k for representation. And they got the same deal. Please look elsewhere and do your due diligence- even when your situation may be scary take the time to ask the hard questions

HORRIBLE

I HIRED TERRY SUTTON TO REPRESENT ME IN MY DIVORCE. HE WAS PAID A $3000.00 AS A RETAINER. HE ASSIGNED VINCE MATIOLLI AS MY ATTORNEY, I TOLD TERRY I DID NOT WANT VINCE AS VINCE WAS NEW AND THEREFORE INEXPERIENCED. TERRY TOLD ME VINCE WOULD HANDLE EVERYTHING UP TO THE COURT DATE BUT THAT HE WOULD BE... THERE ALONG WITH VINCE DAY OF. NEED LESS TO SAY, TERRY WAS A NO SHOW. HOWEVER VINCE WAS PRESENT BUT WAS NOT HELPFUL. I HAD FILED MY DIVORCE, EMERGENCY CUSTODY AND EMERGENCY CHILD SUPPORT AND SPOUSAL MAINTENANCE BEFORE HIRING SUTTON. ALL SUTTON AND VINCE HAD TO DO WAS SCHEDULE AND SHOW UP. THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE COURT CALENDAR DATE, EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY HAD IT BECAUSE THE COURT INFORMED ME A WEEK BEFORE. VINCE SHOWED UP TO PARENT RECONCILIATION- HE TOLD ME HE DID NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING I WAS TELLING HIM BECAUSE MY HUSBANDS DIVORCE LAWYER TOLD HIM A WAS A LIAR. MY EX HUSBAND ACCUSED ME OF DRUG USE AND IMPULSIVE VIOLENT BEHAVIOR AND GOING TO CLUBS OFTEN LEAVING OUT TEENAGE SONS HOME ALONE. IT WAS AN UGLY TACTIC TO USE, HOWEVER IT DID APPARENTLY WORK ON VINCE BECAUSE HE TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PROVE TO HIM THAT I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH, VINCE TOLD ME HE DID NOT BELIEVE ME. IN THE END I GOT SHARED CUSTODY AND MY EX WAS ORDER TO KEEP HEALTH AND CAR INSURANCE AND PAY THEIR CELL PHONE BILL. BUT I WAS NOT GIVEN SPOUSAL MAINTENANCE. VINCE TOLD MY HUSBANDS ATTORNEY THAT HE AGREED I SHOULD LEARN TO LIVE WITHIN MY MEANS. I WAS NOT ASKING TO LIVE A LUXURY LIFE, I WAS ASKING FOR BASIC CHILD SUPPORT AND SPOUSAL SUPPORT, EVEN 200 WOULD OF HELPED. I COMPLAINED TO TERRY ABOUT VINCE"S BILLING AND HIS OVERALL MANNER TOWARD ME. TERRY TOOK OFF QUIT A FEW COMMUNICATION CHARGES THAT HE AGREED WERE REDUNDANT. I GOT $380 TOTAL, BLAH FROM A FATHER THAT MADE OVER $70K PER YEAR. TODAY MY SONS ARE A LITTLE OLDER AND WHILE THEIR FATHER IS OFF ON CRUISES AND VACATIONS 4 TIMES A YEAR THEY RATHER LIVE WITH ME. THE WORST WAS WHEN HIS ATTORNEY WAS BADGERING ME AND THE JUDGED STOPPED HER AND TOLD MY ATTORNEY HE COULD OF DONE THAT. I REALLY WISH I HAVE MY EX HU

you get what you pay for

I hired this lawyer in 2017 for a criminal matter. He would not even speak to me until I paid his fee. As a result of my anxiety and the distance, I was unable to meet with him in person until over a year after I hired him, so most of my contact with his firm was via his "paralegal". He never did any... research into why my case didn't seem to go the way "normal" cases do. An entire year passed and I was never charged with any crime. Finally, in December 2018, I am charged with two of the three original charges. BY the time I met Mr Sutton, he did not seem to know anything about the specifics of my case and I realized too late, that Mr Sutton seemed to not know anything about the strategy of my defense! I immediately began interviewing other prospective lawyers to represent me for the upcoming EDC court. After reading the now available police report, (Mr Sutton's paralegal was never able to obtain the police report in the year his firm represented me!), the other lawyer's were able to point out the flaws in my case right away and point out to my husband and I why I was never charged with one of the charges! I "fired" Mr Sutton and hired another attorney on 12/12/2018. I then asked for an accounting of the "retainer" I gave Mr Sutton for the EDC, paid in full on October 27, 2017. When I finally demanded my money back, I was given every excuse under the sun, including, that Mr Sutton was no longer with the firm and that another lawyer was taking over for him. It is now February 1, 2019 and I have yet to see an accounting for my initial fee nor a refund. I feel I have no choice but to report Mr Sutton to the State Bar and file paperwork for arbitration. His firm no longer returns my phone calls. The old adage is true in this case: You get what you pay for. Mr Sutton is not an expensive lawyer and you definitely get what you pay for in this case. I hired him in October 2017 for a DUI, Assaulting a Police Officer and Resisting arrest. I had a seizure during the arrest. His paralegal collected all of my medical records and we waited a year and 2 months for the charges to "drop". I feel Mr Sutton did not put AY effort into ANYTHING with regard to my case. His paralegal collected my documents and read all of my emails...a year of them. Mr Sutton never questioned why my police report was not released nor anything else. He never wondered why my drivers license was never revoked...even though I refused consent for the mandatory blood draw. I didn't even lay eyes on Mr Sutton until over a YEAR after I hired him and didn't even get to speak to him until I paid him. Now, I cannot get 10 CENTS back from the $3500.00 I gave him and he never even spent 10 SECONDS in court for me.
