Nicholas Constantine Dranias

I have hired, collaborated with, and managed teams of lobbyists, communications specialists, litigators and analysts. My significant accomplishments include leading efforts at the Goldwater Institute to strike down Arizona’s government campaign finance scheme from the district court to the U.S. Supreme Court, during which I secured an emergency stay on the issuance of matching funds to government-financed candidates under the All Writs Act even before certiorari was granted. At Compact for America, I raised approximately $1.2 million, led educational efforts and furnished expert testimony in support of the Compact for a Balanced Budget, resulting in five states passing legislation to join the compact. While in private practice for eight years in Chicago with Dranias, Harrington & Wilson, I hired, developed and supervised expert witnesses and law clerks; managed a case load of over 200 active files, researched and implemented case management systems and software; maintained a commercial and real estate law practice involving hundreds of transactions, and litigated more than thirty appeals, as well as numerous administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations and trials, including more than ten bench trials and three jury trials. During my practice with Nick Dranias Law & Policy Analysis LLC, I have practiced estate law, commercial law, including private offerings, contract negotiation and drafting, and served as outside corporate counsel for four entities. I have written more than 150 publications, including law review articles, public policy reports, and opinion editorials focused in constitutional law, regulatory reform, civil procedure, contract law, and local governmental reform. I have appeared as a constitutional scholar or policy expert on Fox News, MSN-NBC, NPR, PBS, and many other outlets.
