Jim Glover

A native of Louisiana, Jim Glover retired from the United States Army in 2014 following 20 years of service on active duty. Glover’s strong belief in service to his community and the individual rights and protections establish in the American Constitution led him to the decision to earn a Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law and begin a career as an attorney. Jim is an experienced criminal defense attorney and former criminal prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army following high school graduation, continuing the tradition established by his grandfather in WWII and father in Vietnam, serving as a third-generation paratrooper along with his two brothers in the Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division. He served during combat deployments to Operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989 and Operation Desert Shield/Storm in Iraq in 1990-1991. Deciding to commit to serve as a career Soldier and Army officer, Glover enrolled in the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth during which he served four years in the Rhode Island National Guard’s 173rd Long Range Surveillance Detachment (LRSD)(Airborne)(Ranger), participated in Army ROTC, served in the Student Senate, played NCAA Div. III college football, and graduated with a degree in political science and a United States Army Commission. Commissioned into the Field Artillery Branch, Glover deployed as a combat leader four times to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division and Asymmetric Warfare Group, two deployments to Operation Iraqi Freedom with 1st Cavalry Division and the Army Asymmetric Warfare Group and two tours with 2nd Infantry Division on the DMZ in South Korea. Glover’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Parachutist Badge, Combat Action Badge, Army Staff Badge and the Ranger Tab. Additionally, Glover is a graduate of the Airborne School, Ranger School, Special Forces Selection and Assessment and Asymmetric Warfare Group Selection and Assessment, U.S. Army Command and Staff College and the Army Force Management Staff College. Jim is a father of three sons, two of whom are currently serving in the U.S. Army. Jim is a constant fixture on Phoenix area football fields, coaching football.
