He handled a very complex Chapter 13 for my ex-husband and I, and although the process was lengthy, we were able to attain a reasonable re-payment plan while still achieving our ultimate goal of each us keeping our own home. I was referred to Mr. Donald W. Powell by Legal Aid. Mr. Powell was willing to take my bankruptcy at a time in my life when I was going through a serious financial hardship. During this time, my car had just been repossessed, my wages were being garnished, and I was doing in homecare for my mother ...who was in hospice. Although, I was going through my own major medical crisis, Mr. Powell was able to meet with me on a Tuesday morning where he provide me with specific instructions as to what he needed in order to expedite my case so my car would not be sold on Saturday. Mr. Powell was able to put my bankruptcy case together and get all documents filed by that Friday (3 days). As a result, I was able to get my car back the following week and the wage garnishment was stopped immediately! I appreciate the fact, I only had to deal with him and his wonderful paralegal/assistant. They were truly amazing. His paralegal/assistant stayed late and Mr. Powell even came in after returning from an out-of-town business meeting in Tucson to complete my case and got it filed the next day to stop the sale of my car! I know this sounds hard to believe but this is my true testimony. Every single word is true. I can't express how grateful I am to have received an amazing attorney such as Mr. Donald W. Powell. He is not only good at his job, but good people too! He was simply a blessing especially since I was a legal aid referral.

it always irks me when people put down professionals such as attorneys because unless you have been in a situation where you really need their help, you don't really know how crucial they can be. I suspect most people speak out of ignorance in this regard. I had some personal issues which forced me ...into a very temporary bankruptcy which Don Powell helped me work through in a very expeditious manor. I found Don to be tops in his field which was obvious by how he was treated in the courts by his peers and how efficiently he worked through every aspect of the bankruptcy process. I can not imagine having gone through this with anyone else. Don in addition to being an outstanding attorney, is just a really nice down to earth guy and truly an asset to his field. With his knowledge and compassion, I could easily see him in the setting of being a dean in a prestigious law school where he could help teach and shape the careers of law students as he would just set such an excellent standard and no one could ask for a better role model. I honestly cannot recommend Don higher and should you have to deal with any serious issues that might force you into a bankruptcy, I cannot imagine you would be in better hands than with Don Powell. I was a actual client and am writing this review because in life you meet certain people who have helped you through some rough times and Don Powell certainly played that role for me.
