Caleb Shelley McKay

Caleb is as Arizona as they come. Born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, Caleb is a proud Westwood High and Arizona State University Alumnus (just like his mother). Growing up, Caleb participated in cross country, basketball, pole vaulting, math club, orchestra, choir, and musicals. This variety of interests allowed him to gain an appreciation for every person’s unique interests, problems, and perspectives. Understanding how to listen to every person’s point of view has transitioned to his law practice as Caleb is able to better focus on his clients’ issues and work towards the best possible solution on their behalf.

After high school, Caleb was honored to serve a two-year mission in Colombia. There he grew to love serving the vibrant people of Colombia, including building homes in the community. After returning from Colombia, Caleb completed his undergraduate and Juris Doctorate at ASU. While in law school, Caleb’s favorite classes were trial advocacy, a fondness that would motivate him to pursue a career in family law. This love would transition in to his family law practice, where achieving excellent results for his clients is his daily inspiration.

The joy of helping others is what drives Caleb’s pursuit of excellence, both in and out of the courtroom. Focusing on achieving the best possible results for his clients, Caleb excels in developing and maintaining friendly relationships with all parties during the course of a case. Caleb utilizes daily the philosophy that a spoonful of honey is more persuasive – and efficient! – than a gallon of vinegar. Clients, Judges and opposing counsel alike all benefit from his warm candor and high spirits. Much like his time on the stage during the 10+ musicals he performed in growing up, Caleb loves the spotlight in the Courtroom. Caleb tirelessly prepares for trials and hearings and the moment is never too big for him to deliver exactly what his clients need in front of the Judge.

Caleb has covered hundreds of hearings and eighty-five plus bench trials during his combined time as an Arizona Assistant Attorney General and as a Family Law Attorney in the Maricopa, Pinal, Pima, Greenlee, Mohave, Gila, Navajo, Yavapai, and Cochise counties. Caleb loves being in the courtroom and the exciting challenge of litigation. Representing others who are in need of equity and justice drives his undying work ethic. Most Family Law cases are a journey, and Caleb delights in taking that journey step-by-step with his clients. Whatever his clients’ needs – a short trip or the long haul – Caleb is there for them every step of the way. 

Recently, Caleb had the opportunity to succesfully deliver oral arguments in front of the Court of Appeals on Bourgeois v. Bourgeois, CR2 02 12 25 and was selected as a 2025 Superlawyers Rising Star.

Caleb grew up attending ASU baseball games and rooting for the other Valley sports teams his whole life. A Sun Devil fanatic, Caleb attends every football game he can and loves making the games a family affair. Caleb takes pride in his Arizona roots and deeply loves the beautiful people and state of Arizona. He is married to the love of his life – also an Arizona native – and has four darling children. When he’s not playing baseball or monkey-in-the-middle with his kids, Caleb loves experiencing the wide array of restaurants found in Arizona. Go Devils!
