Walter R Ulman

Mr. Ulman practices plaintiff personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and worker’s compensation law.  Mr. Ulman has tried and settled multi-million dollar plus cases as well as successfully arbitrating and mediating hundreds of injury claims.  He has also participated in multi-party, multi-district, litigation matters involving millions of dollars in catastrophic injury claims.  

The Arizona Cardinals specifically chose Mr. Ulman to represent its players for various sports injuries.  In addition, he has also represented many other professional athletes involved in various sports including but not limited to professional hockey players, baseball players, and soccer players. 

In recognition of his career achievements, in 2013 Mr. Ulman was inducted into the National Trial Lawyers ® Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and elite national group of litigators.  A lawyer can only be accepted by invitation.  In addition, Mr. Ulman was chosen as the United States 2009 attorney of the year by LegalShield Services, Inc.  This is a legal organization dedicated to providing legal services to all people at reasonable and cost effective rates.  Notably, he was chosen over 7,000 other lawyers throughout the United States and Canada.

Mr. Ulman has been designated as an AV® Preeminent Rated Lawyer by his peers in the legal community.  This is the highest rating a lawyer can receive, which serves as an objective indicator that a lawyer has demonstrated impeccable ethical standards and superb professional ability. Only a select group of Arizona lawyers receive this distinction.

Mr. Ulman has been a Judge Pro Tempore in the Appellate Court of Arizona, and was a member of the Board of Adjustment in the City of Tempe by appointment of the mayor. In addition, he was chosen to be a member of the Medical-Legal Liaison Committee for Maricopa County. Walt has lectured on behalf of the State Bar of Arizona, private and legal organizations, schools, and colleges. He is also a Tempe Leadership graduate.

Walt Ulman was admitted to the Status of Sustaining Member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America by the Board of Governors in the year 2000. Further, as a member in good standing for over twenty-five years he has received the status of Association of Trial Lawyers of America Stalwart.

Mr. Ulman has participated in oral arguments before the Arizona Court of Appeals, Arizona Supereme Court, Federal District Court, and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is also attorney of record in numerous published opinions by the Arizona Appellate Court.  

Mr. Ulman has been featured and interviewed by various local in state and out of state newspapers and television stations, including the Arizona Republic and News Channel Three, for his extensive legal expertise in the areas of personal injury, and for his multiple successful jury verdicts that he has obtained for plaintiffs throughout many years of practice.  

Throughout his years of practice, Mr. Ulman also lectured throughout Arizona, including Flagstaff, Payson, Prescott and Showlow, to groups of lawyers about the skills involved in the practice of personal injury and worker’s compensation law for the continuing education of lawyers. 

Mr. Ulman has testified on behalf of injured individuals at the Arizona State Legislature in regard to proposed legislation which would affect injured individuals rights to collect compensation.
