A year ago, as I made my monthly visit to my probation officer, I was arrested on charges a detective filed over a year after they had occurred. Up to this point, I had navigated the justice system myself, but now I needed to find a knowledgeable attorney for these new charges, as they were serious a...nd I was already on probation. I had finally turned my life around, working two jobs and mentoring recovering addicts when i was taken down to county on these charges. Ultimately, I ended up signing a plea for 6 months jail time with work release so I did not have to throw away the life I had fought so hard to start building up after my first arrest.
