O Joseph Chornenky

Joe Chornenky is an old school attorney. New firms won't even bother interviewing the police, or combing through tons of documents. Many firms are far more focused on their bottom line and turning over clients. A typical associate might have 30 clients assigned to them. Joe might have 3. I only st...opped to comment because I was curious about the low reviews. He is definitely expensive, and if he keeps bringing that up, it is probably because he wants to be sure you can actually pay for the services. He isn't the most subtle guy. If you are making a mistake, he'll tell you to your face you are wrong. If he tells you to take a plea deal, you probably should. If he tells you to write a letter, or show up in a suit, and you don't - he's going to call you on it, and probably piss you off. He's large, loud, and I've seen a few people call him arrogant. I've also seen people call him a miracle worker, say that he saved their lives, all kinds stuff - because those are true too. He doesn't have a lot of patience for bullshit, and he gets things done. When I told him about my case, he immediately had helpful information for me. He knew who would be prosecuting the case, had specific questions about my arrest, and a strategy to beat it before it got to Grand Jury. If you need a sensitive, hold your hand kind guy, haha Mr. Chornenky might not be for you. Find someone else. If you need a freaking bulldog to defend your rights - give him a call. If the cops are lying, give him a call. If you are looking at serious prison time, give him a call. I can't say enough good things about Mr. Chornenky.

Joseph took my case back in 2001 I never had any problems with him or his staff actually they bent over backwards for me .. he did a great job for and my case was out of Maricopa county it was in Prescott. At that time in my life he had saved a lot of bad situations that could have happened and did...n't ..thank you ...i really wanted to thank you for what did for my case and for me...

I ended up on this site when looking up Joe's phone number. I was surprised to read the first person's review as my experience was very different. I've had a public defender before and it is silly to compare Joe he is heads and shoulders above them. Joe and Rae carefully reviewed the case with me,... and were really up front with me - I had several felony charges and many years or prison if convicted. I can't thank Joe enough, I will always be grateful for his help. He helped me get my life turned around.

This lawyer is a lawyer that wants you to do your own research. Always says I am very expensive. He doesn't like to go to trial. He sends his helpers to do his work for him and then charges you more money. His asst. Patty never reminds you about your court days and they do charge for copies which is ...dumb. He is very impatient and sometimes rude. But once you pay him he is a different person. His office secretary the one in the front office has the ugliest attitude which she never says how can I help you not very helpful. He for gets a lot about things so you have to always remind him all the time because he says he has so many cases. A public defender is way better just my opinion.

The other review is correct on one point and that is that this attorney will not play games with you. He is direct and to the point and if you choose not to listen to him he will not waste his time and energy. He must keep you focused on things that matter and not cloud up the issue. He is extremely ...thorough and if you think you know the law and can defend yourself better you shouldn't have hired him in the first place. Mr. Chornenky was a God Send to me and because of his efforts all 3 felony charges against me were dropped.
