Gabriel Gomez Leyba

Attorney Gabriel G. Leyba is experienced in all areas of Immigration Law, primarily focusing on defending people against removal in Immigration Court.  Attorney Leyba graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 2001, achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola Marymount University in 2005, and obtained a Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2008.

Attorney Leyba’s entire career has been centered around defending immigrants.  Starting in law school, Mr. Leyba co-chaired the Eloy Pro Bono Project where law students would work with the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project to aid pro se detained immigrants in Eloy, Arizona.  Mr. Leyba participated two semesters at the ASU Immigration Law and Policy Clinic helping unaccompanied minors petition for legal status in the United States.  Mr. Leyba also worked as an intern for two years at an immigration law firm prior to obtaining his Arizona Law License in 2009.

During his professional career, Attorney Leyba gained many levels of experience within Immigration Law. In 2011, Attorney Leyba was appointed as a Practitioner in Residence at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law overseeing the cases for the Immigration Law and Policy Clinic while the director was on sabbatical.  Attorney Leyba is admitted to and actively practices law in the United States Federal Court, District of Arizona and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Attorney Leyba represents people in the Immigration Courts of Phoenix, Eloy, Florence, Tucson, and Los Angeles, having attended thousands of hearings.  Attorney Leyba has also fought hundreds of cases at the Board of Immigration Appeals.
