Biography
Candy was born in Yuma Arizona, and raised in Somerton Arizona. He grew up as a migrant farm worker, working the Yuma Arizona, Sacramento, California, and Fresno California farm fields from early on. His parents were decent, hard-working people. He always knew firsthand the value of good hard work, friendship, and respect. Many of his brothers, uncles, and nephews served in the US Military. He attended Kofa High School, Arizona Western College, and Arizona State University. He is a lifelong Arizona resident.
He is a well-known philanthropist and dedicated to students' success. Indeed, one of his passions is that all students reach their full potential. To that end, he spearheaded and helped found Arizona Western College's yearly scholarship banquet, "La Cosecha Banquet".
