Recently I was at an all time low. I was incarcerated, I was frustrated and in all honestly I had just about given up. For over a year I have been going through an extremely hi conflict divorce. I have two little girls and fighting for custody has been tough to say the least. My ex has made many fals...e accusations and this time I was being held on a felony stalking charge and protective order violation with no bail. I felt absolutely defeated. After about a month I was told that the prosecutor would allow me to go home, time served if I plead guilty to the felony. I felt helpless. I was innocent and the very last thing I wanted to do was plead guilty to a felony a felony that I didn't commit. At about this time Mr Barlow agreed to represent me as my defense attorney. I did a little homework on him and found he was previously a prosecutor in St George for 10 years. I knew he had recently started his own private practice and that he was a tough prosecutor. I was told he was the type of prosecutor that simply didn't lose. Early on I told Mark I was innocent. I told him I trusted him and I would take his direction from that point on. I told him I wanted to have a jury trial. Keep in mind a jury trial is a huge deal. It's rare for a jury trial to take place. The prosecutor or state has a conviction rate well above 90%. The state has limitless recorces and they have an obligation not to take someone to trial unless they are certain they will win.The state never offered any sort of deal other than the felony time served offer. I sat in jail for five months. Finally it was time to go to trial. Mr Barlow never tried to talk me out of it. It was a risk as I knew if I was found guilty I likely would be sent to prison. At trial the jury was made up of 6 women and 2 men. This was a dv case. The prosecutor obviously viewed this jury as a win. Thankfully Mr Barlow was unfazed and what happened next was unbelievable. Mr Barlow fought for me in a way I'll never forget. I don't know if it was because he's a dad of two little girl just like myself and knows I'm a good dad that had been beaten up by the system. I don't know if he's the type of guy that just doesn't lose, I just don't know. What I do know is he won the trial for me. Unanimous not guilty by a jury of predominantly women in a domestic violence stalking, protective order case. I will be forever grateful to Mark. If you need a defense attorney Mark is the best. Without a doubt. If your a dad that needs representation, guidance through your divorce etc. MARK IS YOUR MAN.
Thank you Mark you're a life saver.
5 stars is not enough!
