Old, Ornery and Unhelpful.

Mr, Echard represented me in a divorce that had many problems and complications. Although he seemed knowledgeable, I found him to be ornery and unhelpful throughout the entire process. I made a couple of unfortunate and expensive decisions that could have been avoided with some simple advice from ...a helpful attorney (Mr, Echard). I also found his staff to be nearly worthless. In fact, I had to prepare a few of my own legal documents to avoid missing deadlines. In addition, Mr, Echard used his friends and family members to do his legal work instead of an educated and skilled staff. Hence, my documents were often sloppy and incomplete. Once, I mentioned that I was unhappy paying full price for poorly prepared documents. He lost his temper and became irate. He began swearing at me and threatened to resign as my attorney. I am sure these things saved him a lot of money, but it was a nightmare for me. One of the most distressing things was learning that shortly after my divorce, he destroyed my entire file. He stated he "did not have room to keep everyone's paperwork." I was devastated to find all of that paperwork and documentation gone. Later when my divorce developed a complication and had to be revisited, we had nothing to work with. If he didn't have room to store my papers, a simple phone call would have sent me racing to get them. Although he seemed knowledgeable about divorce and Utah law, he failed to help me in the most basic ways. I would never recommend him, his staff or his legal services to anyone hoping for help in a legal crisis or situation.
