This is his first review here, and I wouldn't ever hire this guy EVER!

I would NOT recommend Stephen Wade Farr or his paralegal Nikki Hufstetler for anyone that wants a good attorney or clear representation. I hired Stephen as a last resort after representing myself pro se for about 2 years of my divorce, hoping that an experienced attorney that had been in practice fo...r over 40+ years would be able to help me end my divorce quickly and painlessly. I have never been more wrong than when I met my husband. I paid him with a credit card because I couldn't afford it any other way. My case should have been a simple open and shut case and because my husband is a stubborn man-child who won't listen or cooperate or negotiate my case has become a complete nightmare. As I mentioned before, I only hired Steve Farr after doing all the work necessary on my own for 2 years prior. He shouldn't have had to do anything but get my case finished and closed. Unfortunately it took me over a year of paying this 'experienced' lawyer to realize that he wasn't really doing much of anything to help my case move forward and then when I finally decided to go to court (which my case wasn't the type to need to go that far) I was informed by his paralegal that he had 'retired from going to court' and that I needed to have someone else go with me. So Steve Farr was literally incapable of doing the ONE THING I needed him to do for me, and it took a full year + to find out that he couldn't or wouldn't. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY, he will waste your time and your money. Not only that, but he'll pass you off onto his other less-experienced paralegals and you'll never get a straight answer or actual legal services. Seriously, I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS, but this guy has definitely changed my life and my divorce has gone on past 3 years now and I'm no closer to getting it finalized than before I hired him and wasted my money.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
