Excellent Attorney

Our son was in a bad car accident and had to be hospitalized. The driver of the other car was ticketed for being under the influence of drugs. We contacted Gregory Wall and he helped us through this difficult time. He was very professional, yet personable. He sued for damages, and our son is now... recovering. Thanks, Gregory!

Don't waste your money.

Greg Wall seemed to be competent, but certainly didn't do what I was expecting of him. He might be OK in an uncomplicated divorce, but not when dealing with a non-standard situation. My (ex)wife was a liar and hid assets, for example she claimed she inherited $30,000, but actually (as I found out yea...rs latter) it was over $300,000. I told Greg Wall her father was worth about one million dollars when he died, but he did nothing to find out how much she actually inherited, and I had to pay some of her attorney fees because it was a "financial hardship" for her. I told him she was lying about a lot of things besides that, and he shrugged it off saying "everybody lies in a divorce" (I wasn't. Was he telling me to?) There was a real property involved which she did not show the paperwork on (claiming she couldn't find it), G.W. said it wasn't important, but, it turns out, she was in the process of putting it into her name. I told him that she had to have undisclosed accounts (for example none of the disclosed accounts showed the $30,000), but his examination of her on the stand was so inept the judge told him to stop wasting time, so her undisclosed assets were never revealed. During the trial I was to write down any questions I wanted him to ask, but he didn't ask most of the ones I wrote down. I don't think he could have done a worse job for me even if she was paying him to do so!

This is a recitation of events of 9 years ago, and its accuracy and veracity are immediately suspect. Virtually is incorrect. This client received 56% of the assets and his wife 44%. Her inheritance, as he was told, was not, and is not, considered marital property in Utah and not subject to division between the two spouses. That property was her sole and separate property, regardless of the amount. The remaining property will generally be divided roughly 50/50, but he in fact ended up more than 50/50. The amount of her inheritance would have been a consideration in awarding alimony but this client wasn't required to pay alimony, so once again he received another victory in the case. The wife appealed the case to the Court of Appeals, claiming the property division was unfair, but the appellate court made no change in the award, finding it fair and reasonable. This client also did not choose to file a cross-appeal to claim he also had been wronged at trial, but then again, that would be difficult when you end up not having to pay any alimony and getting more than half of the property. This client's recitation of the trial proceedings is entirely wrong, some of his questions were asked, and others were not of any value, and therefore were not asked. On the appeal he was not ordered to pay any of her attorney fees because the appellate court found he was the prevailing party on appeal. This is hardly a picture of a situation where the client has been wronged or had a poor result. Just the opposite. And a complaint 9 years after the case ended is based on very questionable motives.

Educate Yourself Before you Hire Any Lawyer!

The lawyer did not represent my best interests in my divorce. At the mediation I was left alone, the facts were wrong, and I still had no discoveries from the Husband showing extra bank accounts, reitrements, nothing. Communication was horrible, I dealt mostly with his Paralegal whom was extremely ni...ce and understanding. This lawyer submitted a Memorandum of Understanding of which I never saw, didn't authorize, never signed, resulting in a divorce which I was unaware of until I received an email from the husband weeks later. At that time, I was taken off medical benefits asap which was a devastating life changing event as I was on social security disability and no perscription plan. After 28 years of marriage, hiring this attorney was worse than the actual seperation from the husband. There is a Bar complaint, do your homework, please, guilty on numerous things after 18 months of waiting. I am still dealing with major financial issues, and medical after the hiring of this man.

This client took part in a mediation to settle her case, to which settlement she agreed and signed the settlement agreement. The mediator, a former district court judge, would never have closed the mediation without her voluntary assent to the terms and her voluntary signature on the agreement. She claimed at one point that she never signed anything and never received a copy of the agreement, yet in t he next breath asserted she had taken the agreement to her bishop that very evening to have him look it over with her. How could she do this without having a copy? She claimed she was taken to a back room and forced to sign the agreement; she claimed discovery hadn't been completed when in fact it had. She was sent the final divorce papers prepared by the other attorney to review before they were submitted to the court and failed for months to reply or get in touch with us. She mediator told her several times, as did I, that if she didn't want to settle and sign the agreement she didn't need to--that she should not sign the agreement, but she did decide to go ahead and sign. Of course she was taken off the husband's medical benefits because after the divorce he isn't allowed by law to carry his former spouse. She was aware of this. In the end this client knew perfectly well what she was signing, that in her opinion it was fair, she received a copy of the papers, and left, not to be heard from for months. She walked away owing a large sum of money on her bill, which in my opinion is the reason for her complaints.
