I'm a real estate agent who has used Mr. Sabey for many years not just for myself but for my clients. In fact, I'm referring another one to him today. Scott has helped me with real estate litigation questions, drafting a letter to a difficult tenant which promptly solved the problem, and helping a client get $60k of their money back which was wrongfully being withheld by a developer. I can't say enough about his level of knowledge and professionalism. Scott is highly recommended by me and my clients!
I have known Mr. Sabey for over 15 years and he has represented me several times. He is an excellent litigator and speaker; he is comfortable in the courtroom and in front of the judges -- his presentations were always clear, concise and supported by strong legal research. He is also a good negotiator - he has helped me resolve many issues without litigation.
I am a shareholder in Fabian VanCott, where my main areas of practice are real estate development and related litigation. I have been involved in both residential and commercial real estate developments and transactions since 1985. I have authored numerous real estate related articles, and I am the recipient of the 2005 Distinguished Real Property Practitioner of the Year. I am the past-chair of both the Real Property and Business Law Sections of the Utah State Bar, and I was a Bar Commissioner for the Utah State Bar from 2004 - 2010.
My real estate experience includes over a decade of service on the Sandy City Planning Commission, development of shopping malls, resort condominiums, water companies, financing on large scale residential developments in several counties and a hospital. My litigation experience runs from neighbor property-line disputes to $1,800,000,000 litigation in development, title and real estate law.
I served on the Utah Supreme Court’s Judicial Council from 2006-2009, and served on a number of other Supreme Court committees. I authored the original Small Claims Judge’s Bench Book, and I have taught the Small Claims and Justice Court’s Judges School since 2000. For over a decade I was Co-Chair of the Bar’s Governmental Relations Committee and have served on that committee from 1997-2013. I am a registered lobbyist, and I have lobbied on behalf of the Bar and the COurts, as well as for a number of local and national companies and associations.

Disorganization
I never met with this attorney, I did make an appointment however. Initially the person setting up the appointment was rude but eventually did make the appointment. Then I arrived at the office, a few minutes prior to the appointment time and was told "Mr. Sabey will be right out." I waited for 20 minutes and then his assistant finally came out and said there'd been a 'mix-up' and could I come back in an hour and thirty minutes; dithered a little bit and then amended that to the afternoon. I declined. She then said he had had car trouble and they were very sorry etc etc. I don't know what the problem is with this office but the 'professionals' I saw were dressed in very casual attire, which I did not expect in a lawyer's office and not such a large one especially. Obviously the communication is poor between co-workers because letting the receptionist know that this guy had a problem of some sort (I still don't buy the car trouble business) would have been more professional than waiting 20 minutes and then coming out to say he couldn't/wouldn't make the appointment. My matter was simple. My sympathies to anyone who comes with a complicated issue. And this office is not easy for handicapped individuals to use. You have to park in a parking garage and then there are only stairs to access the building or you can walk outside and around the block to get in the front of the building. The only door into the building from the ground level parking is locked from inside, probably to keep homeless from sleeping in the lobby or something. I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience and I will NOT recommend this firm to anyone.

Response from Scott SabeyFebruary 13, 2015
All untrue. I did meet with her. I did spend several hours with her. I did fix her problem, and I didn't charge her a dime. When I asked her to remove the false review, she simply refused to respond.
