Lawyer I Can Trust
A 5-star review is the least I can do for the impressive service I received from Atty. Rand Bateman and his staff. I made the right choice when I entrusted my case to him. Atty. Bateman is very professional, attentive to my concerns, returned my calls and messages on time, and made reasonable accommodations. I purchased some items online with questionable authenticity. With Atty. Bateman's expertise, I received a full refund within 1 week. He is an attorney I can trust and will recommend to my family and friends.

Beyond professional
I have never worked with a group that has been so professional and helpful. I was wounded in Iraq and I have problems with cognitive dysfunction. They took the extra time to help my bring my ideas to life and to make sure that I understood each step of the process. Thank you Bateman IP.

Fantastic job on complex litigation
Rand is truly one of the most gifted attorneys I have ever met and worked with. He has deep expertise and experience with complex IP/patent issues. Combined those skills, with his brilliant, down to earth no nonsense style and Rand is a herculean asset to any firm. I personally watched as he diligently prepared and then litigated a case for our firm with persuasive power, conviction and verbal dexterity. He flat nailed it! I cannot thank him enough. When it comes to IP, trademark, copyright or patent issues and your firm’s livelihood is at stake… you need the best of the best and that is Rand Bateman.

Best IP Attorney in Salt Lake
My company has used Rand Bateman and Bateman IP for over 15 years. We used several IP firms before Bateman IP and were unable to get our IP in order. In the past 25 years we have over 50 issued patents and Rand is responsible for over 45 of them. Our IP has really taken off and it has helped our business grow when we started using Bateman IP. In the last several years we have been moving into the International IP arena and Rand and has flawlessly made it happen. Rand is the most responsive, and knowledgeable IP attorney I have worked with.

Expert Knowledge and Experience in Obtaining Patent Protection
In 2004, I contracted with a law firm to pursue a patent on an unique invention that I had spent several years developing. After a couple of years of patent application work and personal expense, that attorney advised that it appeared that my product was not patentable. I then contacted Rand Bateman who carefully evaluated my invention and the previous patent work. Rand clearly saw the value of my product and the problem that it solved. He presented me with his strategy and recommendation on how to proceed. I contracted with Rand and he very skillfully and with great diligence navigated the issues that were being presented to us by the patent examiner. Because of Rand's experience and expertise, I was able to successfully obtain a U.S. Patent and start a local business that manufactures and sells this new innovation. Rand was great to work with and always presented me with honest information and assessments throughout the process. He continues to provide exceptional service as we apply for additional patents, trademark protection and contractual agreements. Rand truly helped me become successful with my venture after others had advised that it could not be accomplished. I am very grateful to Rand and his staff for their excellent work. They are a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend their services!

Relationship: Worked for lawyer
"Working under Rand for two years, I saw the meaning of advocate. I witnessed Rand bring to the table his deep knowledge of the law, an understanding of client business, some late nights and a focus on client goals. More specifically, Rand's experience in patent prosecution and litigation provides valuable insight into how to draft patents, go after infringing technology and protect clients from patents. If you look at Rand's recognition in the community (40 under 40, Super Lawyer, etc.), you can see that I'm not the only one that appreciates him. I am grateful to have had such a skilled mentor."
