Measure twice, cut once. Whether it’s a mistake cutting a piece of wood or a mistake of another sort, not taking the time to make sure of what you’re doing will cost you time or money, and most likely both.
Too frequently members of the construction industry contact me after signing a one-sided contract, missing mechanic’s lien and payment bond claim deadlines, waiving claims or defenses, or making other costly mistakes.
With over twenty year’s experience practicing construction law, I can help you save time and money, and avoid costly mistakes. Before signing a contract, review it. If you have questions or concerns, contact me. File the notices necessary to preserve your contract, mechanic’s lien, payment bond, and other claims. What notices? Ask me. I can walk you through the process.
Sometimes despite your best efforts, disputes will arise. I have successfully represented owners, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials, and appeals.
While I am licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of Utah and Wyoming, I have helped clients to resolve matters in many others states, and even internationally. You may contact me at Babcock Scott & Babcock, P.C., a construction law firm, where I am a founding shareholder and director.

Great Attorney
-Very prompt, professional, and personal If you should ever have a problem with a "Licensed Contractor" and "Lien Issues", I would recommend Attorney Robinson immediately. Attorney Robinson actually solved a five-month-old "LIcensed Contractor" issue that I was having with ONE LETTER, IN ONE DAY!...
"I have know Mr. Robinson for many years. We served together as leaders in the Construction Section of the Utah State Bar Association, and from time to time Mr. Robinson has been opposing counsel in disputes between our clients. I have found Mr. Robinson and the other attorneys at Babcock, Scott and Babcock to be of the utmost integrity and of the highest competency in construction law. Without hesitation I can endorse Mr. Robinson and his partners at Babcock, Scott and Babcock. They are good people and among the finest attorneys."
