Rebecca Haws Dustin

I’m a family law attorney with over 12 years of experience. I’ve spent most of that time working in child welfare and representing children in the legal system. Before becoming a lawyer, I was a social worker. I decided to go to law school after going through my own divorce and seeing just how much of a difference a strong, compassionate advocate can make for families during tough times.

After moving to my wife's hometown of Millcreek, Utah, I joined LJ Law. I’m excited to represent children as a Private Guardian ad Litem and to help parents and others through divorce and other family law cases.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the Brigham Young University and graduated magna cum laude. I went on to get my law degree from the Univeristy of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. My background in both social work and law gives me a unique perspective, and I use both skill sets to advocate for the best outcomes for children and families. I focus on thoughtful strategy, solid communication, and practical, results-oriented legal work.

I’m a certified Child Welfare Law Specialist and a proud member of several professional organizations, including the National Association of Counsel for Children, the Utah State Bar’s Family and Juvenile Law Sections, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC).

Giving back to the community is important to me. I’ve served on the boards for the Children’s Justice Center and YCC Family Crisis Center, and I regularly volunteer at the Family Law Clinic and the Rainbow Law Clinic.

Although I moved around a lot as a kid, I eventually made Davis County home and spent over 20 years there raising my four amazing daughters. In 2025, my wife Heather and I moved to Millcreek and sold our Davis County home. We love the energy of our neighborhood and being so close to the city. Together, we’ve built a big, blended family with nine kids and three in-law kids. Holidays are a big deal at our house, (especially Christmas!) where making sure all twelve stockings are equally exciting has become somewhat of an art form. Most of our family still lives nearby, so we get to see each other often, which I love.

When I’m not working, I’m probably at a concert or live performance, I love music and theater and rarely say no to a show! I also enjoy hiking in Utah’s beautiful mountains, exploring National Parks, working on home remodeling projects, and spending time outside digging in my yard.
