When searching for a new attorney, my key priority was finding someone skilled and capable of basic, timely communication. Before partnering with Intermountain Legal, I was transparent about the importance of timely updates. From the start, there were warning signs. Alyssa and Celeste lost the signe...d contract (that did have glaring typos) and required me to come back in to re-sign (with the same typos). When filings were made in court, I was notified well past the halfway point of the response period. When I asked why, the reply was: "Sorry, it wasn't made available immediately." Either the court notification system was faulty, or the firm failed to provide timely communication. While this alone may not seem critical, the problem compounded when they repeatedly requested documentation at the last moment—via emails and calls during work hours. These contact points were billed to me, despite the delays being caused by their lack of planning. Furthermore, I was billed for her consulting with her partners on a simple matter because she didn't have the experience or knowledge to handle it independently. Most frustrating was that motions were filed without my review or input. When I raised this concern, I was told they were not required to seek my approval. I found their work product and professionalism weak and uninspiring. When I politely communicated my concerns about their performance, it triggered a highly reactive, emotional, and rude backlash. At one point, I even witnessed my attorney cry at the end of a motion—a moment that did not instill confidence or reassurance. Avoid this firm and Alyssa Beard and her paralegal Celeste.
