Helped me avoid litigation
Doug did a fantastic job helping me with a CC&R's dispute. By preparing to and demonstrating our ability to defend ourselves legally we were able to avoid expensive litigation and deescalate a volatile situation. I would whole heartedly recommend Doug to friends and family.
"Doug goes the extra mile for his clients. Very responsive and Available and advocates to resolve their challenges as if they were his own. Doug is always willing to take on tough challenges and often represents the underprivileged and those taken advantage of by others. Doug has had some amazing results at trial and has successfully litigated cases for clients in state and federal court and through appeals. Doug will make the hard arguments where other attorneys are unwilling. He is humble and easy to communicate and reason with. I would trust him to represent me and my closest friends and family members."

Public Reprimand issued in UT, 2018
updated on 11/16/2018This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
“In 2015, Doug represented a young couple that bought a new home from a builder. The day after closing, the builder cancelled the contract and tried to evict the couple. In a pleading, Doug mistakenly stated that the couple was a "titled owner" of the property instead of an "equitable" owner. Mr. Shumway twice corrected the misstatement to the court.
