I am a partner at Saunders & Saunders. I have built my practice around my life passions which include intellectual property, business and corporate law, with special emphasis on startup companies, and the art and entertainment industries.
I advise my clients on their intellectual property, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret issues. I have experience in negotiating, obtaining, registering, transferring, licensing and commercializing upon intellectual property assets for my clients. As part of my IP practice, I also have significant defense experience in mass BitTorrent protocol lawsuits, where I have defended dozens of individuals and businesses faced with copyright lawsuits involving the download of online content.
I am also passionate about entrepreneurship, and provide counsel on a variety of general corporate and business issues for both startup companies and established businesses. In addition to helping build and manage corporate IP portfolios, I advise startup companies and small businesses through entity formation, organization, operation, and dissolution or sales, and provides ongoing general corporate support to established businesses.
I am well versed in the particular legal and business issues concerning creatives and creative enterprises. I provide business services to those in and around the creative industries, and assists creatives protect, commercialize upon, and defend their artistic works.
While not in the office, I devote much of my free time to the Denver community through volunteering, pro bono, and non-profit work. I have served as Chair on the Board of Directors for The Gathering Place. I have also served on the Board of the Colorado IP American Inns of Court, where I Chaired Programming Committee, and Community Outreach Committee. I am currently a volunteer ski patroller at Loveland Ski Area.
I hold a Bachelors in Arts, cum laude, from Bates College in English and Art History, and a J.D. from the University of Utah
