I cannot recommend Justin James, Benton Eskelsen, and the team at James Dodge Russell & Stephens highly enough. I came to the firm with a complicated and extremely difficult trust and estate dispute that was also deeply personal. Justin and Ben were knowledgeable, strategic, responsive, and except...ionally patient throughout a long and often contentious process. What I appreciated most was that they never treated this as just another case. They listened to what mattered to me, gave me candid advice even when it wasn’t necessarily what I wanted to hear, and helped me distinguish between what was emotionally important and what made sense legally and strategically. Justin in particular is exceptionally astute. He sizes up people, legal situations, and the dynamics in a room with impressive speed and accuracy. He has a remarkable ability to cut through the noise, identify what actually matters, explain the practical consequences of a decision, and keep things moving toward a resolution. I was also able to see him advocate for me in court, where his demeanor was confident, composed, thoroughly prepared, and persuasive without being theatrical. He knows when to press a point and when not to waste one. There were plenty of twists, turns, and difficult negotiations along the way, and I always felt that I had experienced advocates in my corner. They ultimately helped me reach a settlement that allowed me to put a very painful chapter behind me. Trust and estate litigation is something I hope never to experience again, but if I did, I would want Justin and Ben representing me. Five stars without hesitation.
