Dan Taylor at Sawtooth Law is very dishonest!! Made promises on how hard they would work for us with a big team to get things done, but wanted all the $65,000 upfront! Told us it should be a very easy case, because they specialize in what we were going through. One of their guys from their off...ice even pretended to be an attorney, that we found out later was only a legal aid. Dan and his team did not return phone calls, didn't keep us informed and one time Dan didn't show up on time for court and he had nothing to say. He also almost lost our property. He never filed anything, so now we have no recourse. When we asked for our billable hrs. they made up a ridiculous report, but did say we had $4000 coming back and of course we never saw it and its been over a year now. Plus when we called Dan's phone number it had been disconnected and emails undeliverable. Looks like he took the money from so many besides us and ran. He needs to be stopped, lose his license and disbarred so he can never practice again and keep ripping off people. He is the worst attorney ever!!! Makes me sick what he is getting away with. He's a good scam artist. If you have a complaint contact the Idaho State Bar Association.

My son was arrested on a serious charge, after going online I found Sawtooth and they claimed and then promised the very best representation, a large legal team, investigators, what ever it would take to get him the very best . But, the best cost money, they pressured us in to paying 65,000 up front... and said Dan Taylor would be the lead att. for my son. We met with a att. in Eagle Id. at a temporary office, Mark said he was a hot shot att. and they were building an office soon in Eagle. We found out later Mark wasn't an att. but a legal aid. We kept trying to communicate with Dan Taylor but, just kept getting pushed off to this Mark (liar) and never could get any answers to our question except that they were working hard. When my son had court dates, he was represented on zoom by some guy named Rusty that had no clue what was going on, and never presented any objections or, anything whatsoever. Dan wouldn't return calls, emails, or texts. He never even talked to the prosecuting att, never filed any paperwork, didn't file on a civil rights violation done to my son. So time ran out on the statute for that case that was a slam dunk that could have resulted in a huge financial gain for my son, according to att. who we talked to later, after finally firing Dan Taylor. Because of his non action not filing, or even talking to the DA, Taylor missed zoom meetings with my son, missed court dates and reminded to appear in court by my ex-wife because he wouldn't talk to me even though I paid all the money up front. The second lawyer we hired had his hands tied, and couldn't help an innocent man from being forced into a plea that put him in prison for 2 years. Taylor's office finally sent their supposed billing hours, what a fantasy, the absurdity of the charges, the hours supposedly spent are more than ridiculous.!!They agreed they owed a refund, a paltry 4,000 dollars, but of course we never saw it. And he has his phone disconnected and has disappeared. He basically stole the money and did absolutely nothing for my son. Don't hire this crook!!!

Took 50k with promises of in house professional witnesses, multiple attorneys at our table, paralegals or investigators working non stop; just all kinds of things. NONE of what was promised came true. We are almost bankrupt and all he can say is "sue me" He was late on deadlines so we were denied imm...ediately, didn't even show up to sentencing on time. The judge started without him. By the time Dan got there, he was so discombobulated that he was telling the judge straight out lies that had nothing to so with my husband! He got his cases confused. Super unorganized, had sticky notes everywhere and couldn't remember arguments. At times he would send a random attorney that we had never even met before, which was disastrous. He did NOTHING before trial; no witness list, no pre-trial motions, no interviews of witnesses who were right there, and did NOT make a single objection. I had to supply him with evidence, but he forgot to turn any of it in on time so it ALL got excluded. We were so mis-lead that we didn't even know he was the boss until the 2nd day of trial. We thought it was someone named Lane from Wasatch Defense which has a great rating of 4.9/5 stars. I never did get to see this site. Dan is 100% the reason we lost the trial and due to a prior non-violent, non- sexual charge from 20 years ago, my husband got a 20 year sentence! Then Dan couldn't be bothered to even get the motion for leniency done. Instead he submitted a 2 sentence motion which didn't include any of the supporting documents AND it was filed 7 days too late, so it was denied immediately. We only had one shot at that and it's gone along with the 50k. Imagine that $50,000 up front and had 0 billable hours prior to trial. He said this was such a slam dunk case and the evidence was in our favor that he didn't have to do any work on it. He even admits in the trial transcripts that he didn't do any work because the case was too clear. Dan got cocky, lazy, greedy, and blew through a life savings that we will never get back. I am home alone with 3 small children who are not adjusting well; they want their dad home. 20 YEARS and he missed the deadline to fix the sentence. I could go on forever. This was absolutely the worst attorney and biggest joke of a trial I have ever seen. I think we all need to get together and do something. What he is doing to families and individuals is wrong on so many levels. He needs stopped. I cant even get a refund to hire an attorney for an appeal. God bless these public defenders and give them clarity, strength and endurance to really dig in. There has to be some recourse, I need my husband, and I fully blame dan Taylor and Wasatch defense out of Utah for spinning lies with their marketing plan. What a load of crap. I feel like throwing up. Anybody with similar stories please come forward. help me show a pattern of scamming people. And why anonymously? You did nothing wrong. I still hold my head high. Dan you know what you did wrong. At least give us some money back to hire someone to deal with this aftermath. Do the right thing, please.

this man is so bad I wish the bar of Idaho would take his license. he completely disregarded my case after being paid $8000 and giving me numerous promises in which not ONE promise nor agreement we made became true. he did not even read the information on my case until trial came and then we lost the... case due to him being so incompetent with the information. I would NEVER recommend him, stay far away. I take this as the biggest scam I have ever paid for.
