Travis John Helm

Travis Helm is a graduate to the University of Wyoming, College of Law. Travis is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has served on the Colorado Chapter’s Media Relations Committee and Legislative Outreach Committee. He is currently the only active AILA member in Wyoming.

Mr. Helm also travels to Washington D.C. to meet with lawmakers and represent AILA and immigrant interests, advocating for reform to our nation’s immigration laws.

A native of Wyoming, Travis grew up living and working on his family’s ranch. He remembers delivering supplies to the Peruvian sheepherders and enjoying his Danish grandmother’s cooking. Travis received his B.A. in American Studies from the University of Wyoming, also completing the Scandinavian Area Studies program at the University of Southern Denmark.

Mr. Helm went on to University of Wyoming, College of Law, where he participated as a student attorney in both the Defender Aid Clinic and the International Human Rights Clinic. During his time in the Human Rights Clinic, Mr. Helm successfully represented clients in attaining grants of asylum and helped convince the State of Wyoming to allow DACA recipients the opportunity to have driver’s licenses.

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Helm identified the need for quality immigration representation in Wyoming and opened The Law Office of Travis Helm. Under the direction and management of Travis Helm, the law office represents clients with family, employment and humanitarian based immigration matters; analysis of immigration consequences for criminal convictions; removal defense; and naturalization.

Mr. Helm also volunteers as Pro Bono Attorney for Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN) and presents on topics of immigration to local governmental agencies and other organizations.
