Kyle Matthew Brandon

At Matzen Brandon LLC, Kyle Brandon is valued for his ability to bridge legal advocacy and hard science. One of only two ACS‑CHAL accredited Forensic Lawyer‑Scientists in Wyoming, he brings an uncommon advantage to cases involving forensic testing, toxicology, chemical evidence, or other technical issues that can decide an outcome. Kyle is a Wyoming native and a graduate of Colorado State University and the University of Wyoming College of Law. Before becoming an attorney, he worked in scientific research examining natural systems at larger scales, studying how resources vary across space and time and how water influences land-use change, land cover, and ecosystem function. That work, grounded in both field data and modeling, shaped a careful, evidence-driven mindset he still relies on in litigation. Kyle is regionally recognized for forensic law and applies his focused skill set in criminal defense and civil disputes. He also completed advanced laboratory training at Axion Labs in Chicago, under Dr. Lee Polite. In 2023, he earned certificates in Forensic Chromatography, Forensic Drug Analysis, and The Science of DUID, and after a rigorous exam, received the ACS‑CHAL Forensic Lawyer Scientist designation.
