also known as Hon. James C. Klein (Ret.)
Roughly six (6) months after retiring from the 20th Judicial District Court Bench, Judge Klein launched MCS Mediation and Court Services, a mediation, arbitration, and trial judge alternative dispute resolution practice focused on assisting the resolution of civil and domestic disputes short of seeking final redress in our Courts of Law. Judge Klein has also been admitted to the Roster of Neutrals before the American Arbitration Association.
After nearly two years out on his own, Judge Klein announced that he had joined the panel of neutrals at JAMS Denver where he continued to offer his services as a Mediator, Arbitrator, and Judge Pro Tem pursuant to section 13-3-111, C.R.S.
Now, having relocated to the western slope of Colorado in Carbondale, Judge Klein once again ventures out on his own with the establishment of Western Slope Mediation ().
After a career of public service sitting as a neutral in a variety of disputes, Judge Klein strongly believes that the best resolution to any dispute is one reached between the parties.

Excellent Mediation Skills
James Klein provides excellent mediation services at a fair price. Mr. Klein's knowledge of the law, his ability to talk to the parties, and his compassion to truly hear and understand each party's interests, are what sets him apart as a skilled mediator. I recommend him without qualification.
"Mr. Klein is always prepared and professional. He makes an effort to stay neutral. Mr. Klein will find common ground between the parties and then define and resolve those issues in dispute. He has resolved every case we presented to him. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a mediator."
"Jamie Klein's transition from respected judge on the Boulder District Court bench to highly regarded mediator with the Denver office of JAMS has been both swift and extremely beneficial to the parties he has assisted as their mediator. As a fellow mediator at JAMS, I have been impressed by the number of attorneys and litigants who have expressed their extreme satisfaction with the care and compassion Jamie brings to every mediation he handles. I take great pride in passing on this endorsement of an outstanding fellow mediator. Collie Norman"
"Judge Klein is an experienced and respected mediator. He is thoughtful, well prepared, patient and thorough in his work. I endorse him without reservation."
