I grew up in Denver with my family who remain in the Denver area. My interests are mainly arts related; I am a fan of the local opera company, High Desert Opera, and the local music.
I graduated from Regis University in 2004, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in Finance and a minor in Business Administration. During my undergraduate period, I maintained full time employment with a large food distribution company based in the Denver area.
In December 2007, I graduated early from the University of Tulsa College of Law, receiving my Juris Doctorate degree. I explored the legal field widely while in law school, working as a research assistant to one of my professors regarding cultural property, studying abroad in both Ireland and Argentina, and interning with private employers and the Tulsa County Public Defender's Office. I was also the social chair for the local chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity.
I moved to Grand Junction in 2008 after a period of interning for the Colorado State Public Defender's Office. Prior to joining Younge & Hockensmith as an associate, I maintained a small practice with a friend from law school in Grand Junction focusing mainly on family law issues.

Excellent experience with Rich!
We contacted Rich regarding a quitclaim deed we were having trouble with. He was professional, knowledgeable and so warm. Really has a heart of gold to match his experience and expertise.

My opinion
Did not listen to hear why I was there. Had my situation resolved without knowing facts. Frustrating.
My apologies if you felt you were not listened too. Please feel free to call me so that I can try and assist you further or resolve any dissatisfaction you might have with how our meeting went. Thank you.

Impressed
Richard was very professional, and put my mind at ease. After 32 years of marriage, now faced with divorce. Needless to say many concerns, and emotions. I have just started this journey with Richard, but all the faith in the world that he will see the best outcome for me. Thank you Richard.

I would hire Richard if ever the need arises: I am 'pro se' but he shared his wisdom and knowledge with grace and generosity
I am fortunate that I don't believe I will have to hire an attorney for the issue in question. However, Richard was extremely considerate and thoughtful in his responses to a few questions when I contacted him to summarize my situation. My 'review' isn't official - but I absolutely would recommend ...
"I worked for Rich and can speak to his dedication to his work. Rich is a zealous advocate with a immense knowledge of Colorado law."
"Mr. Lane is a very effective advocate for his clients. I'm impressed with his professional demeanor and his legal ability. I strongly recommend him as counsel for whatever legal matter you're needing him for."
"Mr. Lane has consistently been able to allow clients to have a full appreciation of their case and has also thought outside of the box in several instances to achieve a desired outcome."
"Mr. Lane maintains a diverse skill set that will always benefit his clients, irrespective of the practice area. As a DDA in Grand Junction, I encountered Mr. Lane on the occasional criminal matter and he stood out as an always zealous and prepared advocate. I endorse this lawyer."
"I endorse Rich's work. I have found him to be incredibly knowledgeable as to matters of the law and capable of effectively implementing that knowledge to the benefit of his clients. The other thing I really appreciate about Rich is his candor with clients to help them effectively judge their situation. I endorse this attorney."
