Chris Mahre grew up in farm country in central Washington State where his parents grew Concord grapes, mint, and raised beef cattle. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University in 1986 and a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law in 1990. In Washington, Chris served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for eight years and was a candidate for District Attorney and State Representative. Chris entered private practice in Washington, and after operating his own solo law practice for three years, moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 2001 with his wife and two boys.
In Colorado, Chris has focused on building a thriving legal practice, bringing on two associate attorneys to provide a wide array of legal services. Chris’ emphasis is in elder law, providing legal services for estate planning, estate litigation, conservatorships and guardianships, probate, and will contests. Chris also handles civil litigation matters and personal injury claims.
Chris is a member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the Colorado and Mesa County Bar Associations, the Colorado West Estate Planning Counsel, Grand Junction Downtown Rotary Club, and past member of the National Ski Patrol.
Chris is dedicated to providing legal help to those in need, setting an example for his associates and staff for hard work and honesty in the pursuit of serving others.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
I worked as opposing counsel to Chris in a probate and estate administration matter and was impressed with his professional and non-confrontational manner. We were able to solve all issues for our clients amicably. Since that time I have had several opportunities to work with Chris on different matter and refer some cases to him. I endorse this lawyer.
