Hired this attorney a few years ago not knowing his license had been suspended several years ago for a number of offenses. I wish I had checked the bar first but not having had dealings with many attorneys I took him at his word that he could handle my case. As it turned out he was over his head and ...neglected to show for several court dates. By the time I realized it I had already paid him $2000. The last court was very important so I had another attorney call the DA and direct him what was going on as my attorney was not able to. My attorney was embarrassed and called me names as well as threaten me. Now, three years he is suing me for $8000. When the initial price was $2000. Plus another $2000. On the case he was not able to do causing me to sit in jail for over 14 days . I would never refer him to my worst enemy. He continued to call and threaten me and my family for years.

i hired ron to handle my DUIs. he lied to me serval times about where the paperwork for my third one was, cussed out my mother, he never showed up and sent another attorney who knew nothing about my case an hour and a half late to one of my court dates, and has pretty much has kept me in the dark the... duration of my cases... oh and hes greedy. need I say more

Soon after being arrested for the first time I ignorantly hired Mr. Colquitt because he was the first attorney I came into contact with and his persuasive persistence for me to sign his retainer agreement. Foremost, without knowing any specific details of my case or obtaining any sort of discovery he... already began making assumptions of what the outcome of what my case would be. That should have been the first red flag that went up in my mind. After paying a quarter of his retainer fee and him most likely doing nothing more than requesting discovery on my case, he angrily threatened to send my account to a collection's agency if I did not pay him MORE THAN HALF of what I owed him originally if he were to represent me all the way through trial up front (keep in mind this was less than a month into hiring him). I could not believe for a second that an individual whose sole purpose is to defend the public and maintain their reputation had the audacity to take advantage and to do something so menacingly and penny-pinching. Long story short, I ended up paying him more than $600 and I'm guessing that was for merely sending a fax to the court. That is just my honest opinion. I learned from my mistake and will never hire a lawyer in the future without doing prior research on them. I have faith there are trustworthy lawyers that do exist, that actually want to proudly represent their clients, and not just pocket their money. But it's sad to say I did lose some hope after dealing with this individual. I am extremely disappointed and feel great sympathy towards him not just a lawyer but as a human being.
