I would not recommend Julie Belt, a/k/a Julie Lang

Julie Lang was the sixth attorney I interviewed. The previous five all indicated that “[I] have a very good case.” Ms. Lang’s demeanor was cold and callus. She was downright inhuman. This was after the first point of contact at the firm, Howard Bernstein, was warm and showed appropriate concern. ...Mr. Bernstein assured me that “[I] would be contacted back with a plan.” The takeaway concerning my conversation with Ms. Lang was extremely negative—polar opposite to the experience of Howard Bernstein. As Colorado is a one party state, I record the conversations with attorneys for my own review. When I listened to all of the interviews of lawyers in the last week, Julie Lang was dead last. She may be incredibly smart, but she lacks compassion and insight. I do not know what she gets out of being nasty to a potential client, but it was truly bizarre. I obviously would not recommend her.

Good on process but poor on follow through.

I contracted with Julie in January of 2016, after a phone consultation in which she reviewed my case and was very confident of it's positive outcome. After my case was originally denied in June of 2016, I had her file an appeal. It took 18 months for the appeals hearing to be scheduled. During this t...ime Julie was very good at filing all paperwork and keeping me informed via email. She showed no interest in meeting me face to face and getting to know me. I felt this was important in developing strong testimony for the hearing with the ALJ (Administrative Law Judge). Instead, after two years and a few phone conversations and emails, we met for the first time a half hour prior to the start of the hearing in a side room at the court location. Having had very little court experience I was very nervous and didn't do well in the hearing. I feel very strongly I could've done better with more prep time with Julie. The ALJ denied my appeal and Julie sent me a letter to inform me. This after she said she would call with a decision. Her letter indicated she would not be willing to represent me should I choose to file a second appeal. I have no other experience with lawyers but the way she handled my case does not seem very professional and is NOT someone I'd recommend!

Success in the west!

I had all but given up hope on mine ever being granted my s.s.d.i. I was stuck in a rut of homelessness which was headed towards a bitter end. I was unable to work at any job due to my disability. I saw the ad for Heart of the Rockies Disability Associates and called Ms. Belt. This was about March of... 2014, I did what she suggested I do and seven months later I was awarded a large amount of back-pay and a monthly check for life. THANK GOD and Ms. Belt for I would have perished without her sincere care and expertise! Eugene

Trustworthy

Looking for someone you can trust? Look no more! I was scared, anxious and a total mess but Julie brought a sense of calm and expertise that is seldom seen in the legal field. She was always prompt and personable every time I contacted her. We felt that she went the extra mile for us. She treated us... like we mattered, like we were her only clients and that just doesn't seem to happen much any more. Thank you so much.

Went out of her way to represent me.

Julie helped me tremendously in an extremely troubling time in my life. She was always on top of the situation.... And treated me with the utmost respect. She treats her client's like a person...not a number. And in today's society... Is a very rare thing. Julie is tops in my opinion!!!
