also known as Elizabeth Margaret Sexton
I have an extensive trial background with over 100 jury trials and a passion to make a difference in the lives of my clients. As a prosecutor, I handled a myriad of cases including juvenile prosecutions where the focus is on balancing the diverse needs of all parties, including the public. I have developed an expertise in handling domestic violence issues.
While serving in the Tenth Judicial District Attorney's Office (Pueblo County) and the Thirteenth Judicial District Attorney’s office (7 northeastern counties of Colorado), I handled many high profile cases and served on the DA’s Juvenile Shareholders Board. I have done numerous presentations and trainings for law enforcement officers on such topics as the Constitution and Bill of Rights, testimony, juvenile law, and restraining orders. Additionally, I have been a moot court judge with the University of Denver and the state high school moot court competition, am a member of Phi Delta Phi, a legal ethics fraternity, have raised money for cancer research both with the American Cancer Society and Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and have volunteered with the AARP Elderwatch Program to try to stamp out fraud committed against the elderly.
I earned my law degree from the University of Denver, College of Law in 2003. I served on the Student Bar Association Board, the Academic Conduct Review Board, and the International Journal of Law and Policy. As an intern with the International Human Rights Advocacy Clinic, I was commended by the Belize State Department for my research and writing in an effort to return stolen artifacts to the people of Belize. While in law school I interned with the Colorado State Public Defeners' Office and working at the University in both student affairs and academic affairs and the dean's office.
My knowledge of the criminal justice system is a benifit to my clients for hones appraisal of the case whether it is as a defendant or as a victim.
I have personally experienced the process for Individualized Educaction Plans (IEP) to advocate for students getting the best services they need to provide the most opportunities for their future. I know the urgencies that is felt to get these services correct so that a child does not "slip through the cracks".

EXTREMELY PLEASED
We contacted her for legal advice and guidance regarding a potentially delicate issue. She was extremely helpful, obviously had an extensive knowledge of the law and how to navigate this issue. Could not have done this without her.

I hired this individual to represent in a family law case. She told me she had all this experience and she had literally none. I got ambushed appearing in court by the judge because of her. She did not file anything on time. She didn’t tell me I had a phone appearance, that I would have misse...

Best that's out there!
She was absolutely amazing and I would refer everyone that needed legal help to her! She was kind and understanding. She also gave us a refund of the money she didn't use.
"Elizabeth is a detail-oriented, friendly, caring, and aggressive attorney who knows the law and knows the best way to approach your case. She was one of my go-to lawyers when I supervised her, and I can give her my unqualified endorsement!"
