Thank you Tim!

When we met Tim in 2006 we were really in a bind. We had a mountain of debt, our house was in foreclosure, we were facing wage garnishment, and we were dealing with the possibility of being sued. To say the least, we were desperate and hopeless. After our first consultation with Tim we started to ...see light at the end of the tunnel, and for the first time, believed it was not a train. To start with, Tim became a shield between us and the creditors that were constantly calling. I cannot even begin to tell you what a relief that was! Tim not only handled our bankruptcy with professionalism and intelligence, but also with class and grace. He is very knowledgeable regarding bankruptcy laws and litigation. He did not treat us as deadbeats, in fact, he made us feel like we were not bad people. He helped us understand sometimes good people go through difficult financial times and need to just start over. He did that for us. Now, five years later, we are on the verge of buying a house, we have had no trouble getting decent cars, and we are completely back on our feet. Thank you Tim for not only what you did for us, but also how your handled our case with kindness and understanding!

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2017.

Discipline, Probation; no Actual Suspension issued in CA, 2017

updated on 02/24/2020

This sanction means the attorney had a suspension placed on hold (and ultimately removed) by complying with certain requirements.

Timothy’s comment:

“This matter was connected to the Colorado probation that occurred in 2015. This was not a new matter. When an attorney is placed on probation in one state, any other state that he is licensed in (for me CA) will also place the attorney on probation. I served my probation in CA and was released as I had no new issues for the two years.”

Suspension Stayed Placed on Probation issued in CO, 2015

updated on 01/04/2018

Suspension stayed means the attorney has been disciplined, but that the suspension is placed on hold (and ultimately removed) if the attorney complies with probation requirements.

Timothy’s comment:

“I was placed on probation for a matter that occurred in 2013 that involved me missing a deadline to file a lawsuit against the spouse of a party that I was attempting to collect a judgment against. Bottom line was that I did miss the deadline but there was no injury to my client as she had the ability to pursue the original party. I served my two-year probation without further incident and never lost my ability to practice law. If you are interested in learning more, call me.”

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
