Susan Cochrane

My first time I was represented by Susan Cochrane was for a DUI case. Her price was fair, And I was happy with the deal I received. She kept me informed of what was going on, was punctual for all of my court dates, and promptly returned phone calls. I was happy enough with my first experience with h...er that a few years later, when I was charged with distribution of a controlled substance, calling her was a no-brainer. This time the price seemed high initially, but after shopping around, was actually very reasonable. This was a very serious case, and required a great deal of work. The case was actually in Jefferson County, so she had to meet me there for our appearances. Again this time she kept me informed. I received a copy of my discovery, and we regularly discussed my options. Not long before sentencing she was able to arrange a meeting with her, my mom (I was only 19 at the time), and the DA. Because of her hard work I was able to get probation for something that I had thought was a for sure prison sentence. In fact my co-defendant did go to prison for basically the same thing I got probation for. Susan Cochrane took my case very seriously, always kept me informed, and got me a phenomenal deal from the DA. I hired Susan to represent me in a DUI case. She was very prompt on calling to make sure I would hire her but after she got my money the wheels definitely fell off. She seemed very uninterested in my case. I was ALWAYS the one who called her to check up on the status of my case. She managed to leave ...out some VERY important information when arranging my plea agreement with the DA. She was late or never showed for almost every appointment I had with her. The worst experience I had with Susan was on the day on sentencing, 10 minutes before court, she calls to tell me she is sick and won't be able to make it!!!! I live in a different town so I drove all the way there and was already sitting outside the courtroom when this happened. I had expressed to Susan at our prior meeting (of which she was late for) that I had to get this taken care of as soon as possible so it could not be prolonged anymore. I reiterated that to her on the morning of sentencing and she told me there was nothing that could be done. I decided to represent myself in the case that day (which she STRONGLY advised against because I wouldn't get the same "deal" without her) well she was wrong, I ended up getting the same deal with only 1 change due to her not disclosing information to the DA in the first place, which wouldn't have changed with or without her there! I really feel that once she had my money she could have cared less what happened to me in this case. I DO NOT recommend hiring her! It's not worth the money you save, because you'll do just as good by yourself for free.

Susan is a very knowledgeable attorney in every aspect of a criminal case. She knows both sidesof the aisle of the defense/prosecutor roles. She tells you what you are up against making sure you know what to expect. I trust her 100%. She is always on top of any motion that may come up. She takes IMME...DIATE ACTION. She never steered me in the wrong direction and I know she is always keeping my interests #1. I would highly recommend her when facing scary accusations and would highly recommend her to my closest friends and family because I know her track record. Sometimes in cases things don't work out as you'd like them to exactly but there are ups and downs during these types of cases, so its not the attorney, its just our justice system has some flaws. I would call her first and glad that I did. I just hope I never go through what I went through ever again. I never went through anything like this prior and it was a terrifying situation and she set my mind at ease and never kept anything from me.She worked very hard for me and she charges very fair rates for the long hours she devotes to your case. She could charge more and it would still be worth every penny. She is very calm in court and is thinking on her feet every second and is correct if she needs to speak. I felt very comfortable with her in court and I was comforted in knowing she was standing next to me. I can't say enough positive things about her. She is more than excellent!! I know first had how stressful it is so if you are finding yourself in a situation give Susan a call and try to be patient our court system is slow but Susan never is, she is quick on everyting! Very intelligent lady.
