Hans C. Tuft was born in Sandy, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and San Jose State University, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While at San Jose State University, Mr. Tuft received the President’s Scholar Award and the Dean’s Scholar Award, and was a member of the University’s rugby team. Mr. Tuft attended law school at the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado, where he earned the Jules Milstein Law Fund Scholarship and served on the Board of Editors for the University of Colorado Law Review. While at the University of Colorado, Mr. Tuft participated in the school’s legal aid and natural resources clinics. Mr. Tuft graduated from law school in 2005. After graduating from law school, Mr. Tuft served as a Deputy District Attorney in Colorado’s Fourth Judicial District Office of the District Attorney in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he handled numerous misdemeanor and felony cases and was appointed to the juvenile crimes unit. Mr. Tuft has experience in County and District Court.
Mr. Tuft was admitted to the Colorado State Bar in 2006, and the United States District Court, District of Colorado in 2008. Mr. Tuft is a member of the El Paso County Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.
