Senior Military Officers: Don't Fight This Alone -- Choose Adam

Adam Gittleman was exactly the right counsel I needed during one of the most devastating experiences in my military career. He kept me focused, managed my expectations, and encouraged me when I felt like completely giving up. I prided myself in holding myself to high standards and preparing my te...ammates for next-level leadership, so I felt completely blindsided when the process began. I tried to connect with military defense counsel, but they were task saturated and could only offer me a junior officer who would help me review my written response. Adam helped get additional testimony, challenge interpretation of existing testimony, and reveal significant issues in the investigation. Adam even pulled the military defense counsel in to help advise on service-specific nuances. In a system when one person is often the "judge, jury, and executioner," there is no "easy button" to correcting for cognitive bias. Once a senior decision-maker is determined you're guilty, that's really all they'll be able to see unless there's some external disruption to a course of action that will cause permanent harm. Furthermore, when witnesses give testimony to an IO, those witnesses do not get to see what words are being credited to them, emphasized, omitted, etc. -- the only way they would know how their words were interpreted is through a FOIA request. This is a system that has very little accountability unless pushed to a Courts Martial, so no matter how confident you are in your own innocence, you'll need help to at least mitigate the outcome. As a senior officer who has commanded multiple times, I almost allowed myself to believe I could trust the system and my understanding of what's true. Nevertheless, I'm so glad I did not allow myself to fight this one alone. I would have lost in more ways than just my professional trajectory. Adam made me feel like I was his only client, and went well out of his way to put together a credible defense -- one that at least helped me continue serving in uniform. He even supported my wife through some of the struggles that arose through was became a very lengthy and complicated process. I would not wish this experience on anyone, especially those so late in their career; however, I'm grateful it was Adam I was matched to. His wisdom, experience, passion for defense, and genuine compassion for those who swore the Oath are just a few of the reasons I would recommend him to any senior officer. It didn't end in a way that I had hoped, but Adam was able to ensure the final word included more context than would have otherwise been in my official records. He often asked my advice as we negotiated next steps, and we partnered to avoid a worst-case scenario. He also helped me see that there was more to the story, and that made all the difference in my recovery -- both professionally and personally. Adam was by my side every step of the way, and I know I would not have survived this without him.

A Top-Tier Military Attorney Who Delivers Results

I reached out to Adam E. Gittleman, who came highly recommended as one of the top military attorneys in Colorado. From our very first conversation, he was vibrant, transparent, and upfront. He explained that although he typically wins his cases, he didn’t want to offer false hope due to the complexit...y of my situation, but assured me he would give it his absolute best. Adam was extremely hands-on and maintained consistent communication with me on a daily basis. His dedication and professionalism gave me full confidence in his abilities, and I could tell he was working tirelessly behind the scenes, as I received frequent and detailed updates. Thanks to his hard work and expertise, I won the case. I am absolutely grateful and could not have asked for a better advocate during such a challenging time.

Don’t face an investigation alone

Adam was exceptionally proactive and on the ball in a high stakes case before a 2-Star command. As I know is often the case, the investigating officer did not conduct a thorough investigation, and Adam caught this and conducted the interviews that had been left out. All of those interviews we...re in my favor. Adam wrote a thorough rebuttal to the IO’s initial findings. In the end, the case against me was found to be unsubstantiated. As anyone in command knows, it is an extremely busy responsibly. Having Adam fight this for me on my behalf was invaluable. To anyone who finds yourself facing any legal or investigation-related challenge in the military, I would highly recommend not trying to handle it alone. Get an attorney. And Adam is the best in the field.
