Ronda K. Cordova

First of all, I want to say Ronda Cordova at Kaplan Morrell is a class act. Absolutely a solid attorney who knows her stuff. She has a great personality, funny, and LISTENS to you. She keeps you calm throughout the whole process. Even when you think your case might not go in your favor, she pulls out... all the stops to make it happen. Made time to accomodate my very un-accomodating work schedule even when it caused her to stay late or come in early. I don't believe there are many attorneys out there who do that. There's more, but I'll get to my case. In 2015, I injured my left shoulder at work. I knew something significant happened based on a previous right shoulder surgery (pain location, lack of motion, etc). Kept asking for a x-ray and MRI and was told that's not the way it's done. No diagnostics. Rehab first. Due to my ignorance, I "played the game" with my company's insurance carrier and rehabed my way back to work. Basically, getting starved back to work. Fast forward to summer 2018. Pain is back and range of motion is deteriorating. Thought it was just wear and tear as I'm getting older. Nothing improved, so I went back to my orthopedic doc and got an MRI I paid for myself. Results came back as expected and he recommended surgery. Knowing that it'd been 3 yrs since the injury, I started looking around for an attorney. No one would take my case. Saw reviews for Kaplan Morrell on this site and gave them a call. After trying three other firms, they were the only firm to consider my case. Ultimately, they took it. Initially, I had Andrew Newcombe as my attorney, but he left to start his own practice. He's another fine attorney and did great work on my case. I wish him well and much success. Then Ronda took over my case. She picked right up where Andrew left off. Went over my case notes with me to make sure what she had hadn't changed on my end. Very thorough from that point forward. I knew I was in good hands. My company's WC insurance carrier, in typical fashion, dragged their feet every opportunity they could. This causes the wheels of justice to move slow. Understand that Ronda and her staff did not contribute to this problem. Everyone on her team turned around all required paperwork well in advance of Colorado WC stated deadlines. Kept me on my toes too! All of her staff were very respectful, patient with my questions, and willing to educate me beyond just a basic answer to a given question. Even though I'm not one of those clients who got "a million dollar settlement," I got what I set out to have done. I got my shoulder surgery and a small settlement. It took four years from start to finish. If you're thinking that's an outrageous amount of time to get a WC case done, it really isn't given the complicated case I had. Mine was not the norm. There were times that I wanted to give up. Remember, that's what insurance companies want you to do--give up by wearing you down. They have the resources to outlast you if you go it alone. But when you retain Ronda Cordova and her staff at Kaplan Morrell, they stick with it on your behalf to the very end. You won't be disapponted.
