Sara J. Smith

I was born and raised in Northwest Colorado and then moved to Idaho where I raised three children. While in Idaho, I was a prosecutor and recently returned to Colorado in 2019 where I continued practicing as a prosecutor. I am intricately familiar with courtroom proceedings, appearing in court weekly during my time as a prosecutor in both Idaho and Colorado.

As a family law attorney, I have the added benefit in that I have personally experienced divorce and understand the emotional toil divorce brings.  I know precisely how to work effectively with opposing counsel, but I also know when to dig in and fight. I am the exact attorney you want in your corner for your family law matters.

As a criminal attorney, specializing in DUIs, I work to ensure that my clients are treated fairly and with respect.  I carefully look at the facts of each case and will advocate for each client to ensure their constitutional rights were respected. 

I enjoy traveling, skiing, hiking, rafting, reading, and cooking. I am family minded and have three grown children. Further, I intimately understand the trauma of familial legal matters and will tackle the matter at hand with zealous advocacy but also in a manner that helps you feel more optimistic and empowered. Family matters are difficult, emotional, and trying, but with me at the helm you will feel protected, encouraged, and supported.
