Benjamin J. Brickweg

Benjamin J. Brickweg, Esq., has more than 20 years of experience working with business owners, founders, and entrepreneurs across the full lifecycle of ownership. He has directly advised more than 300 owners on completed transactions and has counseled thousands of business owners on valuation, exit planning, deal structure, and risk management.

Ben is also the owner of Sagewood, a boutique mergers and acquisitions and business brokerage advisory firm, where he works with founder-led and Main Street businesses navigating growth, transition, and sale. He is a licensed business broker and a FINRA-registered representative, giving him a rare ability to operate at the intersection of law, finance, and real-world deal execution.

In addition to transactional work, Ben serves on boards of directors and advises ownership groups on governance, strategy, and succession planning. He is a published author, holds an MBA, and trained in fast-paced business law environments, but he deliberately avoids academic legal jargon and the big-firm mindset built around billable hours and unnecessary complexity.

Ben is based in Colorado, where he lives with his wife, their dogs, and his teenage sons.
