Matt Fowls, Esq., is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law, and is licensed to practice law in the States of Arizona and Colorado. Matt’s passion is empowering healthcare providers to thrive in complex legal and regulatory landscapes through practical, tailored legal advice.
Prior to his current role as in-house counsel to CarePoint Health, one of the American west's premiere mult-specialty healthcare provider practices, Matt ran a law practice centered upon helping Arizona and Colorado businesses with various corporate and transactional issues. He also worked in a Denver-based law firm practicing multi-jurisdictional workers' compensation defense throughout both Arizona and Colorado. He learned finer points of compliance strategy while working in the Office of Global Compliance at the Colorado-based Fortune 500 company, Western Union Holdings, Inc. Matt understands the complex dynamics that can unfold with government agencies, having performed substantial internships at the offices of both the Colorado and Arizona Attorneys General. Matt has provided legal counsel to several Arizona and Colorado physicians regarding matters as simple as employment contracts, all the way to unique questions of compliance with federal pieces of legislation, such as the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996, better known as HIPAA.
