Joel has worked on at least a dozen matters for me and my related companies since 2001. All handled with the care and diligence that allows me sleep at night knowing everything is in good hands. I am the kind of person who demands excellence. With Joel that expectation is constantly exceeded. W...hy? Because Joel sees the issue before him and ALL the contingencies. I love that he has the ability to think strategically! I can’t count the number of times he pointed out a blind spot in my thinking. Most of the work Joel has performed for me has been related to contracts, operating agreements, real estate, business formation and entity planning. The few times litigation reared its ugly head Joel kicked butt! He won every battle we had to fight. He won because he was not just prepared, but over prepared. The battle was over before it had begun – the other side just didn’t know it. If you are not just looking for an attorney, but an attorney AND counselor working in your best interest – Joel’s the guy.

First - I have to comment on the 2 negative reviews. I know no one is perfect but those reviews are 100% contrary to the Joel Russman I have known for years. I was first referred to Joel 8 years ago when I was purchasing my home (my first in CO) and needed an attorney to review the contract. I'm... originally from Chicago where all real estate transactions involve attorneys. My attorney had to be out of the country at the last minute and couldn't help me. Joel came as a referral from a trusted friend. I wanted him to review the real estate contract even though he explained (for free) that CO has standardized contracts for home purchases and I didn't really need him to review it. He was clear, concise and fair in his pricing and he has a great sense of humor. Since then, Joel has been an invaluable asset in dealing with a crazy neighbor in both criminal and personal injury cases (the crazy neighbor harassing and then trying to sue me and my partner). He worked with my insurance company's attorney seamlessly when that attorney was assigned to defend us in the personal injury suit filed by the neighbor. And his rates were beyond fair, not to mention that he again brought his compassion and humor to a tough situation that put me at ease. I can't tell you how important it is to have an attorney who treats you like a human being when you are being threatened, stalked and sued by someone who is crazy. The stress is through the roof, yet Joel is calm and kind. He's also been a valuable consult in reviewing my rental lease agreements for my tenants and offering valuable insight. Joel has a strong moral compass, charges reasonable rates and gets the job done after walking through all of the alternatives. As someone who has worked with attorneys through my 20+ year career in the insurance industry, I would recommend Joel to anyone who wants a quality attorney who cares about his clients.
