also known as Michael Taylor, Mike Taylor
Michael R. Taylor graduated cum laude from the University of Colorado, Denver, in 2004, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. Michael then worked as a manager for a retail chain and as a land surveyor. After two years of “working in the real world,” Michael decided to return to school to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a lawyer.
In 2007, Michael was accepted to the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. In law school, he worked as a teaching and research assistant for several of his professors and focused on environmental and natural resource law. Michael also completed internships with a small public land law firm and the Environmental Protection Agency’s environmental crimes prosecution division.
After graduation, Michael was the domestic-judicial fellow in Colorado’s 18th Judicial District where he worked closely with judges by providing research and writing draft orders. As the fellowship came to a close, Michael was offered a position as the civil and criminal law clerk for the Honorable Judge Richard B. Caschette in Douglas County District Court. Michael was also hired as the domestic law clerk for the Honorable Angela R. Arkin, also in Douglas County District Court. After working in the North Denver Metro area for approximately four years, Michael moved to downtown Denver and the Woody Law Firm, LLC, to expand his practice.
During his time as a law clerk, Michael gained significant experience in all three disciplines, but found that he most enjoyed family law. “People law,” as Michael calls it, is truly a fulfilling way to spend his days.
In his free time, Michael enjoys outdoor activities, playing guitar, cooking, and spending time with his friends and his cat.

Very Professional
Mr. Taylor was the second lawyer that I had with my custody and divorce case. He was very professional and knowledgeable of Colorado family law. His expertise is in 100% family law and it shows. My ex is a Narcissist and he dealt with it professionally and tactfully. He was always available to talk ...
"I have worked as opposing counsel in a variety of dissolution and post-decree cases with Mr. Taylor. I can say with authority that Mr. Taylor is the consummate professional and clients and counsel can rely on him to treat them with honesty and integrity. Mr. Taylor goes out of his way to solve problems, not create them, and that is a rare and valuable skill that inures to the benefit of both his client and their family. I hold Mr. Taylor in high regard and would recommend him unconditionally."
