Would not Recommend

My experience while using Peter Garin as a CFI was 1 star quality. When speaking with him on separate occasions, he was unprofessional/rude when speaking to me and addressing issues. His work felt rushed and displayed poor time management when handling my part of the case. Most interactions did not t...ake place until close to the due date. I was constantly having to reach out for confirmations on my communications with him, do check-ins due to prolonged lapse in hearing back from him and would receive no responses to emails on numerous occasions. He also is not up-to-date with certain technology and had various issues with Google drive when receiving documents I sent him. It was a negative experience and I would not recommend. This is not my first experience using a CFI. My prior time was professional and I felt more consideration was taken when handling the logistics of the case for both parties. When paying for someone’s service, one has certain expectations to be met and mine were not.

Absolutely Do NOT Recommend

Peter Garin has an abusive and aggressive style of investigation that harms children. After 1 year of my son refusing visits with his father, I hired Peter Garin to help me and instead he interviewed father first, who self-diagnosed me with parental alienation. Peter Garin did not interview me,... instead he called me in for an interrogation and threatened me with jail time if I didn't force my son back. This, despite my son's individual therapist treating him for PTSD when with father. Peter Garin stated that my son 'needed a swift kick to the pants' (but used cuss words) and never even spoke to my son's therapist. Update: 6 months ago, parenting time with father resumed due to Peter Garin's report against mother. This past week, father relinquished all parenting time to mother and left to live for an undetermined amount of time, out of the country. Mother tried to explain that this was a pattern to Peter Garin and he ignored her. Now minor child is again dealing with PTSD of being abandoned, which mother was trying to protect him from. If you love your child, do not hire Peter Garin.

Left in a boat without a paddle

Hired Peter to handle my divorce in which a small child was involved. Peter assured me that I would get rights in regards to my child and assured me that everything would be ok. This was my first divorce and as you could imagine I was very distraught and a bunch of other emotions. The main emotion th...at I felt was fear of losing my only son and the fear of the unknown. I paid Peter his fee with the help of family and drained my retirement and savings to hire him as I don’t have a lot of money. My first experience seemed to be ok. But as my first court date came things started to fall apart. Long story short Peter got us torn a new one in court. The opposition got everything they wanted and I left even more sad and anxious as to what was gonna happen with my son and our relationship. Peter felt so bad that he offered me a discount(gee thanks), but then quickly began to talk to me about money and how I needed to sell my kidney to pay for his fees which I didn’t find very funny. As the months went by Peter seemed to bend at the waist for the oppositions attorney leaving me feeling like he was on their side. Money was running low so I ended up selling my firearms to Peter in exchange for continued services. Toward the end of all this I was told that if I went to trial that I would lose so I had to agree to this uphill agreement that I cannot afford to maintain. Not only that but there are no checks and balances and no enforcement to be had leaving my ex wife to just outright ignore me when it came to matters of my son. I’m also stuck with a case manager that will not return any of my calls so I’m basically left with a boat without a paddle. I called Peter to ask about rates for rehire as he knows more about my situation than anyone else but no returned calls. I was made to believe this deal was good but I now realize that this deal was basically about shutting things down quickly so Peter could get paid and paid he did. As soon as Peter got ahold of his portion of the proceeds he dropped me like a bad habit and has not returned any of my calls. Take my advice and find someone that will fight for you not bend over for the opposition for an easy pay day. Meanwhile I’m left to pickup up the peace’s and scrap together the little money I do have to hire another attorney in which I now know that I should have just saved and hired someone better from the get go. Be smart when dealing with lawyers some of them see your life altering life changing scenario as a way to pillage your prized possessions and take your money with doing little for you. I warned him about the type of people that we were dealing with and told him the deal needs to be air tight in which I know now that he blew that completely off and just took whatever was offered and sold it to me like a win. It was far from that. Take heed and save yourself time money and most of all heart break.

Hire Peter!

I hired Peter for a DUI charge in October, 2016. With the real and terrifying possibility of Jail despite no prior interaction with law authorities, I sure hoped he was as good as I thought. But, in the sea of lawyers, how do you know 100%? You don't. But now I do. Peter is the best! he has all ...the basic qualities and excels at them---very competent, knows the laws and latest changes, is familiar with the local court systems and people. What differentiates him? all the really important stuff---he cares (a lot), he possesses integrity & honesty, he is responsive, he goes above and beyond, he does the right thing, he gives excellent counsel and advice. In my case, he got to really know me, understand what was most important in court and made certain those things happened successfully. And, I was able to speak with him easily about other concerns about my DUI. In the sea of lawyers, I can't imagine anyone better in his areas of expertise.

not bad, not great

He is very professional. Seems to know his stuff. Reasonably responsive. Bottom line he did not achieve great results in my sons case...could have achieved same results without an attorney I think
