I engaged Robin Beattie to represent me when my ex-husband filed a motion to terminate the maintenance he had agreed to during our divorce proceedings. My attorney had since retired, and I reached out to Robin for representation. She gave me realistic expectations when we first met...what this would ...cost if it indeed when to court, why considering a settlement had merit, what my chances of prevailing were, and what to expect on this journey. Everything she told me in that initial discussion turned out to be spot-on. During this emotionally-charged and challenging journey, Robin was a voice of professionalism, expertise, compassion and wisdom. She made thoughtful decisions around how/where to spend my money to provide the best outcomes, always knew the details of what was occurring in the lead-up to court, kept opposing council accountable for what they were to be doing, and built a legal case with great merit. Robin’s level of preparation for my court case was beyond impressive. Several weeks before my court date, she had prepared her entire case, enlisted feedback from her team at the firm, worked with me to clarify points and ensure my comfort with it, and explained the variety of strategies she was employing for my case. In the last few weeks and days leading up to court, she continued to refine and hone her case. During court, she made pivots when necessary to address opposing council and witness testimony. She remained professional in the face of opposing council who behaved very unprofessionally throughout from initial contact, through the day in court. This review is in reference to the legal firm of Polidori, Franklin, Monahan, and Beattie office, but more specifically about my experience with Robin Beattie, a partner in the firm. I was from Grand Junction, CO looking for an attorney who had experience in domestic violence. I found Robin online an...d asked if she would represent me even though it would be long distance, she in Denver and me in Grand Junction. That distance meant that everything would have to be conducted over email and/or phone. During the course of our association, Robin has been an invaluable person in the journey to help myself and my then 7-month-old child escape my abusive ex-husband and regain our lives with the knowledge that he would remain in our lives because of our child. Robin was an ear for my rants when I was exhausted battling my ex-husband. She was a variable encyclopedia of legal knowledge when I asked her to help me with conventional and unconventional requests. She was able to ferret out what was most important to me in the custody/divorce battle and she was like a boa constrictor going after a kill to get the outcome I needed. The end result was that Robin got the desired outcomes for me. Due to her invaluable legal advice, I did not inadvertently make my situation worse and because of her advice, I was praised by the Judge. One of the many things I continue to appreciate about Robin is she is very upfront with me about the reality of my custody situation. She does not beat around the bush and try to spend your money for the sake of spending it. She tells you the options and you get to decide if it is important to you or not to pursue it legally. One of my requirements was the utmost veracity when it came to my case and she definitely met that requirement. Robin is also very conscientious and detail oriented when it comes to writing motions and stipulations. I always asked Robin to write them, over my ex-husband's inept attorney, so that they were done well. I did not actually meet face-to-face with Robin until the evening before my trial in Grand Junction. Although this is not typical, we made it work because she would FaceTime with me to go over materials and she was always available to email or take my calls when I was panicking about something my ex-husband did or said. She even went so far as to help me learn how to appropriately communicate with my ex-husband so that it would help the situation. As far as I'm concerned, she went above and beyond to help me through the most horrible situation of my life. She is not only still my attorney after 3+ years but she is also now a friend. As a bonus, my daughter doesn't like most people but the literal minute she met Robin, she was talking to her and acted like she had known her forever. That is how Robin is, just a genuinely nice person who happens to be a phenomenal attorney. Although I never have actually visited Robin's office, I additionally have had a great phone relationship with the front desk staff and with Robin's paralegal staff. I have always been received well, when either paying my bill or when I need to get in touch with Robin. If Robin is out of town or in a meeting, I am always able to talk with Robin's paralegal, Jill, who has been wonderful, or with Hannah Westmont, another attorney in the firm, for any legal advice. Jill is always helping me get the documents I need or filing the proper documents on time. Overall, I can not stress how much this office, and specifically Robin, have helped me through the absolute worst time in my life. I would highly recommend working with Robin Beattie and her firm.
