Devin C. Mcllvain

Devin C. McIlvain is an Associate Attorney at Evans Case, LLP. Since his admission to the Bar of the State of Colorado, Devin has devoted his legal career to contested litigation and has successfully represented clients in family law, criminal, and probate litigation cases. At Evans Case, Devin specializes in probate administration and litigation, Rule 62 proceedings, and guardianships and conservatorships.

Recognizing the personal and emotional issues embedded in each case, Devin prides himself on his desire to provide compassionate representation and strives to find amicable resolutions without increasing conflict between the parties. Devin also recognizes that good faith negotiations and settlement discussions cannot resolve every dispute, requiring the matter to proceed to hearing. While Devin aims to keep parties out of the courtroom, when possible, he is prepared to zealously advocate on his clients’ behalf and has obtained favorable outcomes for clients at trial.

Prior to graduating law school, Devin was a student attorney with the University of Denver Sturm College of Law Criminal Defense Clinic and an extern with the Denver Office of the Municipal Public Defender, where he was able to hone his litigation skills and successfully defend clients in misdemeanor criminal cases. Believing that every client deserves access to justice, Devin is a volunteer attorney with the Denver Metro Volunteer Lawyers and actively participates in free legal workshops to ensure that all clients can receive reasoned legal guidance regardless of their financial circumstances.

Devin earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law as a Dean’s Scholar after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in English at Wake Forest University as a Heritage Scholar. Devin is a proud native of West Virginia, avid supporter of the Colorado Rockies, and a cycling enthusiast. When Devin is not in the office or in court, you can find him enjoying a baseball game at Coors Field or biking across the Front Range.
