When a builder cuts corners, Colorado homeowners and HOAs are the ones who pay for it, in cracked foundations, water intrusion, failed grading, and repairs that cost far more than doing it right the first time. What drives me as a lawyer is helping property owners with real damages hold builders accountable for their mistakes.

I’ve also been the builder. As founder and CEO of a Colorado general contracting, luxury homebuilding, and excavation and earthwork company, I managed more than $40 million in residential construction projects: negotiating contracts, running crews and subcontractors, working through permitting and entitlement problems, and making the day-to-day tradeoffs between cost, schedule, and quality that every builder faces. I know exactly where corners get cut, because I've stood in the room where that decision gets made.

I've spent more than 20 years in construction litigation, including as a shareholder at one of Colorado's leading construction-defect firms. I’ve served as lead or trial counsel on more than $75 million in claims resolved through litigation, arbitration, and mediation.* That experience, paired with hands-on knowledge of how homes and commercial buildings actually get built, is what lets me evaluate a defect claim the way a builder would, and then prove it the way a trial lawyer has to.
