Ethan Mamoru Sumida

Ethan Sumida is a family law attorney practicing in Colorado, bringing nearly four years of dedicated experience to serving clients in domestic relations matters. A graduate of Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, Ethan earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he initially pursued studies in veterinary medicine before discovering his calling in law.

After transitioning from first party insurance work, Ethan found his passion in family law while practicing in Colorado Springs. He was drawn to the field by the recognition that families navigating divorce, custody disputes, and related matters often face complex legal nuances without understanding their rights or options. His practice focuses on educating and guiding clients through the intricacies of Colorado’s equitable division framework and family law processes.

Ethan’s experience spans a comprehensive range of family law matters, including pre-decree and post-decree allocation of parental responsibilities, contempt proceedings, modifications of spousal maintenance and child support, and adoptions. He is committed to being a legal resource for clients who may not know where to start or how to pursue a domestic relations action.

Outside of work, Ethan enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs, tackling home improvement projects, fishing, and hitting the golf course.
