Gregory T. Dowty

Gregory Dowty is an experienced personal injury lawyer who leverages his background as an insurance defense attorney to help victims and families fight for the compensation they deserve. As a Trial Attorney with DM Injury Law, Gregory focuses his practice on matters involving car accidents, motorcycle accidents, premises liability, truck accidents, dog bites, and serious personal injury.

Drawn to the legal profession by his desire to help people in need, Gregory earned his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice at Northeastern University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Directly out of law school, Gregory began his legal career working for an auto insurance company, where he learned firsthand how insurers evaluate and handle claims. During this time, Gregory also came to understand how insurance carriers operate with the intent to collect as many premiums as they can while paying out as little in claims as possible. Seeing how this greed regularly tended to outweigh fairness shaped his drive to fight for the “little guy.”

Greg’s insight into the “other side” has proven invaluable to the clients he represents, allowing him to effectively predict how insurance carriers will respond to his clients’ cases and craft the personalized strategies they need to position themselves for success. Since his transition to representing plaintiffs, Gregory has also developed his personal injury practice in multiple states, giving him a broad view of how different states treat various claims. This experience, combined with his ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, has helped his clients obtain favorable results.

Gregory is a native of Northern California, where he was an avid ice hockey player. He moved to Boston after high school to complete his undergraduate studies at Northeastern University before relocating to Kansas City to study law. When he is not in the courtroom, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs, hiking, and weightlifting.
